Cloth Diapering

Swim diaper question

When I put in my next order for CD stuff, I want to order DD a swim diaper or two for the summer. The place that I get most of my stuff from has Apple Cheeks, Swimmi, and Charlie Banana swim diapers. The prices are about $15-20 each, not a huge difference between brands. So I was just wondering what your experiences with these diapers are. DD also has skinny legs, so I hope someone has experience with fits of the diapers as well.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Swim diaper question

  • I haven't tried any of these personally, but I would definitely recommend getting one with snaps on both sides/hips instead of just one.

  • Most people just use a cheapie pocket, or an old pocket that has delaminated. I wouldn't spend more than $5 for a swim diaper. They are only there to catch poop, so you really don't have to worry much  about fit as the pee goes right through anyway.

  • I have a Bummis Swimmi with Velcro on both sides an iPlay with snaps on one side only. The Bummis is great for the infant stage, but I didn't love it from about 18 months +. I like the iPlay a lot for the older stage, especially since it has a little absorbency in case of accidents from the changing room to the pool.

Thanks for all of your replies!

I just started CDing so the diapers are all still in good shape. But making one of the used pockets into a swim diaper will allow me to buy a new diaper to have as a diaper so... Lol
