Pity Party Tuesday

I need a safe place to vent. Feel free to join me. Just don't expect cake. If there was any, I would be sitting by myself in a corner eating it all.

So DS is still sick...day 8. We missed an amazing birthday party Saturday, and he still hasn't gotten to wear his super cute Easter outfit b/c I don't want to wash snot out of it. The power button on the washer is frozen. I asked DH to fix it last week when it got off-kilter, but he said to keep using it b/c like, yeah, that's going to fix it... 8-|  When I was changing DS's poop diaper this morning, I got crap all over his socks. I made a huge mess trying to spray them. I finally installed the new OS on my old iPhone, and it ate my email inbox. My Kindle and laptop have both died once today, requiring hard restarts to each. And seriously, I can't even make this up, TB erased this whole vent after I typed it once. <sigh> Oh, wait, make that twice! Apparently it hates the gif I was trying to add.

I didn't sleep at all last night partly because allergy season has officially claimed G for the next 4 months, which basically means he can't sleep laying down or he'll end up coughing constantly. I wound up ending a skype call with DH earlier because I was getting irritated with him and starting to feel like I was getting a lecture, which would be easier to get over if he was here. I won't be able to talk to him again in person until I pick him up from the airport in 5 days. Apparently the soap I've been buying for our dishwasher isn't compatible with our dishwasher (???), so when I pulled out the filter to clean it, I found a greasy, baked-on soap mess that I couldn't even get fully clean after letting it soak overnight. And I'm feeling like a terrible mother because I've been totally distracted and short with G most of the day.

I'm so sorry Jane.  That is a lot piling up at one time.  Have you taken him to the doctor?  On the plus side, he can wear his adorable Easter outfit for Mother's Day, and you can take adorable mommy and son pics.

Hugs, my kids rashes was getting better, but unfortunately he got a another virus and it made the rashes on he's legs worse. Now he has the rash virus and a stomach virus.

I it makes you feel better our dryer broke 2 weeks ago, no warning. It just didn't start.

And after my son was born we had our sewer line back up, I needed new tires, new breaks, and one morning the water stopped while taking a shower. I think the last one was due to the cold and on the city's side. But seriously how many issues can come up in 11 weeks.

I hope things get better.

I'm with you on the poop. M held it for 18 hours and we actually had a blowout.

I'm trying to clean my house before Sunday's big party. I wish m would sleep w/o me. At least I managed to get the shopping done while wearing a sleeping baby.

((Hugs)) Sounds like a rough day.

 

After seeing DD's rash almost completely clear up on Sunday, today I notice she is itching her armpit and rash is back in full force, as if it never went away!

Also, just talked to DH and he told me he might not be able to make it to the birthing class tonight.  He decided to schedule his furthest client for Tuesdays even though he knew we had this class. Last week I told him to switch the client to Mondays, he said he would. Obviously he did not. Trying not to get *too* upset at the moment since IDK for sure if he will miss it, but it's not working. It's only 5 fucking classes EVER IN YOUR LIFE.  And I'm carrying the kid for 9 months.

We opted for a 1-day class, because DH's travel schedule was so unpredictable at the time. He skipped out in the middle of the day to run home and walk the dog. Of course this meant he missed the part where we were practicing coping techniques. I was pissed, and he was clueless.

Needless to say, if we decide to have a second child, I'm hiring a doula.

@unaveragejane, I hope things turn around for you soon. Stuff does seem to pile up, doesn't it?

Well, I have hired a doula. And I'll still be pissed if he misses it. This is the only child we will be having together. It pisses me off b/c when it's something he needs like for his business or just support in general, I am there. No questions. I rearrange my schedule or whatever. I expect the same in return.

Well I don't want to start another thread but Wednesday is off with a bang. DS lost one of his Crocs on the way to DC today. He just kicked the stroller footrest one too many times and it came off. He waited a while to call it to my attention. We retraced our steps, no sign of it.  >:P

I'll join in.

L had his first bought of teething pain last night. He couldn't soothe through nursing, though, because his nose was congested. Tylenol helped, but he kept waking up crying throughout the night. So after four hours of broken sleep I am up and ready to drive three hours each way to present at a conference. On a positive note, I can't stress about my talk because I'm too tired.

If he's old enough ibuprofen works a lot better for tooth pain than Tylenol, ime, plus it lasts a little longer.

My hair dryer shorted out this morning. It started hissing and popping, so I threw it in the empty sink and unplugged it as quickly as I could. Yikes! But I'm determined that will be the worst part of today. It is Wednesday...Hump Day...Business Night!

I was wishing that we had some last night, but we haven't needed any until last night. I'll definitely be picking some up on the way home!

Can I just say that I'm totally jealous you guys can stroll to daycare! That's awesome and envy-worthy in my book.

And what was worse is that it wasn't that long so it was an option to pull it back. I busted out the curling iron on fixed as best as I could.

Can I just say that I'm totally jealous you guys can stroll to daycare! That's awesome and envy-worthy in my book.

Thanks, that was definitely a selling point! The previous daycare was a minimum half hour bus ride each way, which started to really wear on me. Now we have the option of a 7-minute bus ride or a 25-minute walk, which is what I do on days that I have the dog with me. A <5 minute train ride + 19 minute walk is also an option, but the platform is very gappy so I don't like taking the stroller to that particular station. In theory I could bike if I can get DS accustomed to riding in a trailer or toddler seat. In theory.

Update: Found the missing Croc! I retraced our steps 3x this morning and couldn't find it, but then when we went to pick DS up in the afternoon, there it was on the side of the path. Someone must have picked it up and tried to find the owner, then put it back.
