@sparklenshine_89 I wouldn't have much of a problem if say I was being induced or a csection on a certain day I guess but it is basically a guess between four weeks and I feel like I would more or less be under the gun to have lo
Yeah that makes sense. Sometimes I wish I knew exactly when this baby was going to come... It would make our lives so much easier!
I'm overly excited for tomorrow because DH and I get to go out on a date night for my birthday.... it's literally been about 7 months since we've gone out for a date, AND we get to go to the movies, which its been almost 2 years since we've seen a movie in theaters! We don't get out much.... lol
GUYS. My job. This is getting ridiculous. I went home sick today because I have walking pneumonia. I went to a zoomcare clinic yesterday and got antibiotics.
Today I got this email at 6pm for our hr contractor: "Please bring a letter from your doctor authorizing you to return to work. Let's make sure you and the baby are in good shape before you get back in work mode."
Wtf. So I'm not supposed to go in tomorrow?
@lest12 I am supposed to have a big meeting with my boss tomorrow at 9am. The midwife doesn't open until 8. and my midwife isn't seeing me for my cough. I think they are just covering their ass, but I am still confused.
Can you call your boss now? I believe your west coast, it's not too late, is it? And you could at least leave a message so they're not wondering where you are at 9am?
I emailed back to clarify that I am not allowed to go back to work until I have a note and will email my boss once that happens. I just keep feeling like I'm getting screwed with at work. So annoying.
Pretty sure I've been coughing so hard, I lost part of my mucous plug. I know it doesn't mean anything and it's regenerating but seriously. The coughing.
For all of you with two girls and people say "Aww, but don't you want a boy?!" Throat punch them and read them this.

I read this yesterday and thought it was great because we've already gotten a few comments about if we'll keep trying until we get a boy. Um, first, lets wait until our first daughter has been born. Second, lets wait until #2 is conceived/gestating/born before you ask if we'll keep going. And lastly, ignore #1 & 2 because it's none of your damn business anyways.

YES. Apparently people think my husband will be depressed and leave if we never have a third to "try" for a boy. I've lost count of how many times I've heard "oh now you have to have another!" No. We don't. While I'm not convinced H wants to stop at two, if we didn't have more he will be perfectly happy being a father to two daughters. Would he be thrilled if we had a son? Sure, so would I. Would he be thrilled if we had a third daughter? Absolutely.
Someone actually told me "he'll want to be a baseball coach someday". And he can't do that for our daughters? Come on people...

Exactly! We're overjoyed to have another girl and it would be the same if it were a boy. DD has been playing baseball (t ball) since she was 4 and has loved it and yes her daddy has been her coach every year!

I wonder... Do women get this with two sons? I mean, is it to the same degree?
yes. once anyone hears we are having a second boy they immediately start with "that's too bad, you're going to have to try again. you have to be desperate for a girl now!" I even had someone say to me the other day "oh my, between your husband and your two boys that's too many penises for one house. you need some more estrogen over there" WHAT?! you are a stranger! who says that?

Yup. At least I do. Whenever I mention it's another boy I'll get apologetic responses like "Maybe next time." or be egged on to try for another.
I'm all teary eyed watching daphne oz bringing her baby on the chew. She's so damn cute and it made me think two things: 1. Daphne Oz is my hero. She still has the baby weight and isn't afraid to be on tv. 2. OMG I just want to hold my baby!!!
June '14 September Siggy challenge- Favorite things about fall
@Rachel5130 Everyone around me assumed it was a girl and that we were hoping for a girl since I've already raised my stepson for the past 7 years. We got several pink outfits from family members before we found out the sex. Now we've had two ultrasounds confirm its a boy and some people still act disappointed. My husband, son and I are too thrilled to be having another boy though and people can't seem to grasp that. I've had countless people tell me we can't be done now because boys just grow up to leave you but girls are there forever. BS. I guess that's why my husband and I live 10 minutes from his mother and I grew up next door to my dad's mom. I love being the only girl in the house!
@Rachel5130 yes people do the same thing to me since this is going to be our 3rd boy. Even when I say I'm really excited and won't be trying for another they insist I try again. I should tell them that I refuse to go on because my life is incomplete without a girl. Idiots.

People are so dumb. It's 50/50, EVERY TIME! Having more kids does not increase your chances. Plus, that's such an insensitive thing to say --- what if, yes, you were desperate for a girl/boy but are having the opposite? Obviously you're still going to be thrilled. (What are you supposed to say? "Yeah, we're so disappointed. This child will be unloved, and we'll definitely be trying again!")
I'm having the same difficulty in reasonable responses to parents who love to tell me how much sleep I'll be losing. Gee, thanks for the supportive tips... I had *no* idea...
So I had a very long Easter weekend with very little sleep, so needless to say I've been very grumpy even at work for the past 2 days especially with my boss because he is a very different kind of man (to put it nicely) and you have to really ignore most of his comments to not choke him lol. Well I guess I hadn't been doing a great job at ignoring him. So today very tentatively and out of nowhere he asks me "are you in a better mood today". It made me lol because he seemed almost scared to ask. Poor man is probably ready for me to be back to normal too.
I sent someone a PM earlier asking if it would be inappropriate to write the countdown on the calendar hanging in my office as extra motivation.
I feel like it wouldn't go over too well though.
@lest12 - I am totally in the countdown club! I wrote a little tiny number in the corner of every Monday on my calendar. Makes me so happy to see that I only have 22 working days left!
Well, I joined the "visit L&D club" today but thankfully, it turns out to be nothing serious. I don't want to create my own thread because I feel lucky it isn't much.
This afternoon I went to the bathroom and realized my panties were soaked. I changed and added a pad and 30 minutes later, the pad was pretty wet. I called my OB nurse line and she advised that I go to the childbirth center to get it checked. Fortunately, the tests came back as no amniotic fluid and my cervix was closed and long. She said it looks like a yeast infection, but it will take 2 days to get definitive results. We don't know exactly what that fluid leak was, but must either be urine or vaginal discharge. I'm relieved and feel fortunate that it wasn't anything serious!
@jclester614 - could you tell the friend you haven't decided on one just yet and say if he'd like to get you a gift card to put towards it that would be the easiest? Then hopefully he will pick the amount.
Good grief, you're a genius! Thank you for the wonderful suggestion, that's so sensible! ------------quote fail-----------
So I got a package in the mail today. It was a car seat, from my friend who said he wanted to buy us a stroller! Apparently he purchased it right after telling us he wanted to.
*Facepalm*
It's ridiculously nice of him. But he clearly has no idea that this is an item parents would want to choose themselves. Now I have to figure out if it fits in my car...!
@jclester614 - I think this is perfect! Nicely say, we love the gift but it just doesn't fit in our car/with the stroller we picked out. Would you mind if we exchanged it for a different one? And have the one you want in the back of your head in case he asks and wants to do it. And don't even worry a little bit about the cost at this point. Just be honest with what you really want.
It's a Graco classic connect (snugfit 30?? All these names blend together).
I think I want the Graco click connect, which is like the next model up -- again, after figuring out how the fit is. It seemed sturdier when I looked at it in the store a few weeks ago. And I like the jogging stroller that goes with that car seat (even tho I don't jog...).
@lest12 -- that's the plan, I think! And he would have no idea that fitting it to your car or a stroller is even a thing, so it is kind of perfect. Just...funny. : )
Re: *Tuesday 4/22 AW/SS/Random Thread*
Now I'm going to the store for good jelly!
I have been feeling that way lately, for sure. Like, I literally counted the days until my leave today. 44. Now isn't the time to crack down, bossman.
I feel like it wouldn't go over too well though.
Pretty sure I've been coughing so hard, I lost part of my mucous plug. I know it doesn't mean anything and it's regenerating but seriously. The coughing.
And I was out for less than one work day.
