Fingernails.

Where/when do you cut them? Lyndin will not sit still long enough anymore. The only time I can cut them is when he's in the high chair and DH is feeding him. With DH it of town 4 days a week, that's hard to do. Any suggestions?

John can hold his bottle with one hand, so I do it then or put on mickey mouse clubhouse and sit him in my lap and do it. Usually keeps him still long enough.

Didn't think about doing it during his bottle! I'll have to try. I've tried TV and it doesn't hold his attention for more than a few seconds anymore.

@clearskies77 he's weird about that too, but is getting better.  I used to be able to distract him with a toy and he'd let me have his other hand.  He's just too squirmy for that now.

@amberdt03 I just tried doing it while drinking his bottle and it worked!  Thanks for the help!

I bear hug from behind too. She gives it her full attention and examines her fingers while I trim her nails. She has to be in a good mood though or she won't let me. Last time she kept putting up her pointer finger because she wanted it trimmed but none of her other nails were allowed to be lol

@nursemommy13 he would love my phone.  I try to keep it away from him, but I can definitely see how it would help in getting the job done.

I always file LO's fingernails right after changing his diaper. I can usually get only one hand done at a time before he fusses.

I do one or two at a time over a 2-3 hour period as she will let me.

Bear hug on my lap after her bedtime bottle, get them done soooo much faster than trying when she's awake

I turn it into a game. I count down with each finger "4 more...3 more..." and then say "yaaaay!" when I finish one hand. If I try to force her to be still she gets mad.
