Cloth Diapering

rec your favorite TRIM fitting diaper

Not sure if anyone else has this problem, but on my tall, skinny 17lb 15month old little girl all the cloth diapers I have make her bottom look huge and ridiculous in the little stretchy pants and leggings that seem to be standard for little girls these days. Can you recommend any cloth choices that are on the trimmer side but still function well? Thanks!

(we have mostly gmd workhorses, freetimes and a few kawaii pockets right now)

  • Best bottoms are also quite trim, but I'm not sure how they would fit a tall skinny :)

The thirsties OS pockets are trim as well! I love that they come standard with a hemp/cotton insert. And the new aplix really is good if you are looking to go that route. My guy is tall for his age but he's only 6.5 months, so I can't speak to how they would do closer to potty training, though.

  • Thirsties AIOs are the trimmest that I personally have tried, but they aren't as absorbent as the prefolds that we usually use.

  • Our trimmest diaper was a babykicks basic pocket diaper. It probably would last to PL on my 70th perc. LO, but unfortunately the aplix died after about a year of use. So get snaps if you go that route.

Best Bottoms and Grovia are also really trim, but I don't think either of those will have a tall enough rise to make it to PL'ing for us.

You might be best off getting a few sized diapers to use with leggings. Something like Blueberry simplex 2.0 or Fuzzibunz perfect size. They'd be more trim than OS diapers. That or try something like folding an AppleCheecks 2ply bamboo insert and laying it in your favorite size cover.

  • My trimmest diapers are flats and covers or Simplex.

  • The new style BGEs are very trim. But I don't *love* them. They bunch weird... but are still very absorbent.

  • Simplex 2.0 or OS, followed by Grovia AIO. I like Thirsties pockets too.

  • If I want something trim, I use one of my Kawaii Pure and Naturals with a blend insert. DD3 is going to outgrow them soon though. :-( She's about 21 lbs, and they go to 22 lbs. Otherwise any of my pocket diapers with a bamboo insert is fairly trim.

  • Swaddlebees Simplex. The sized one, never tried the OS. Hands down favorite diaper. I'll be stocking up for baby #2!

  • Thanks for the suggestions! Hope its a warm summer so we can flaunt our fluff and not worry about being the giant booty baby on the block!
  • Yeah, imbrace the booty. I'm jealous of the leggings, at least those stretch, we have some Nike pants that don't so ds will be out of them soon.

  • If I want trim I avoid pockets and go for a cover and flat.

I also avoid microfiber. My bamboo inserts or a pad folded flat are much trimmer.
