Update! Brown spotting is back, help! (noonandj04)

I am freaking out. I just hit 13 weeks today and everything has been going great for the past six weeks. I had some brown spotting with a few instances of pink throughout week 6 but it went away and hasn't been back until now.

I noticed it first in my underwear about 2 or 3 hours ago. More like brownish discharge than spotting, and I can't really see it on the TP when I wipe. I called my OB office and am currently awaiting a callback from one of the nurses. I have an appointment scheduled for Thursday afternoon but I'm hoping they'll get me in sooner now. I'm really scared! I'm at work and feel like crying. Please send T&P's my way!!

ETA: Update!

Heard the heartbeat! Phew. It took the nurse a long time to find it, so of course I was about to have an anxiety attack. Luckily she found it and I let out a huge sigh of relief! The heartrate was between 150 and 160, so lower than the last time I heard it, but she said it's still in the "normal" range so everything should be fine.

 

I'm still experiencing the brownish spotting, so I can't say I'm feeling 100% relieved yet. My appointment for Thursday afternoon is still on, so maybe if everything goes well again I'll feel better. I just want the spotting to go away!

I am sorry! Any kind of spoting can't be scary. But there are many reasons for spotting. I hope that your doctor gets back to you soon! Hugs!

Just got a call back. They're having me come in today to listen to the heartbeat via doppler. I'm leaving work in 10. I wish it were an actual ultrasound, but at this point I'll take what I can get. I'll make sure to post an update later. Please keep me and my LO in your prayers!

Ugh, sorry you are having to worry about this.  I hope you get to hear that lovely heartbeat.  I had some spotting around the same time, and I think what caused it for me was a rigurous workout.  Have you done some sort of physical exertion recently? Exercise, sex, a forced bowel movement (I know, TMI)? These activities can all cause some spotting.  It could also just be that something unknown irritated your cervix.

I hope you get some reassurance from your appointment. Spotting is always scary with PgAL brain. FWIW, I have always been under the impression that brown spotting is old blood just working its way out, and that red spotting is the more worrisome type of spotting. I've had all of the above, though, so I totally understand the anxiety. ((Hugs))

Great update!! I wouldn't stress about the heart rate .. My little guys started out really high like 180 and settled around 150 at like 12 weeks and has remained the same range since.

I'm so happy you got some reassurance with the heartbeat. Bleeding/spotting in pregnancy is the worst, and I am so sorry you are experiencing it, but it doesn't always mean terrible things.

I bled a LOT with my DD's pregnancy (subchorionic hematoma) and while it gave me multiple anxiety attacks, all the way to something like 22 weeks, she is a happy almost 5 year old. Hang in there!

So far today I have been spot-free (knock on wood). So I'm feeling a little bit better. Thank you all so much for your reassurance and kind words! This board seriously saves my sanity, I don't know how I'd get through this stuff without you ladies. ((hugs))
