1. How many weeks along are you?
2. Any medical updates?
3. How are you feeling lately?
4. QOTW: will anyone stay at your place after LO arrives to help out (family etc) and/or will DH take time off? For working moms, how long of a maternity leave do you plan to take?

Re: **2IF grad check-in**

  • A little freaked out at seeing my name at the top of the list!

    1. 38 weeks, 4 days
    2. No medical updates.
    3. Physically, I'm exhausted and uncomfortable. The heartburn/acid reflux makes me want to cry. Haven't been sleeping well. Mentally, I'm overwhelmed and borderline ready to panic. Friends with more than one have told me that the freak out is normal. :)
    4. Nobody will stay with us at our house. Our family is local so they'll probably come by to help out like they did last time. DH is taking off 2 weeks. When DD was born, he took off 6 for paternity leave and it was so great!! Now it's 2 and I'm a little nervous! :) I work full time as a teacher, so I'll be taking off the rest of the school year (7 weeks) and will have all summer before I have to return to work at the end of August/beginning September. DD will be at my school next year and baby will go to my mom's house, so that'll cushion the blow a little with going back to work.
    DH & I: 29
    TTC #1 4/2009 -  DD 2/5/10

  • 1.14 weeks!
    2. I had an OB appt last week - it is always such a relief to hear the heartbeat! Also took the maternity 21 blood test and should get the results by early next week.
    3. Feeling fine, just anxious to hear the results of the blood test - it will be a long week!
    4. We won't have anyone stay with us and because DH owns a really small family owned business, he will only get a couple of days off. I get 6 weeks of paid leave and the rest of the leave is vacation time or unpaid. I took 12 weeks last time but am still trying to figure out how much I can take.
  • @jeffreysmom24, the nausea has finally gotten better! It's still there once in a while, but not all day every day :)

    1. 14 weeks!

    2. Appt today, I am hoping my OB does another quick little US peek to check for a heartbeat, but I will settle for the Doppler :) And we will be scheduling the anatomy scan. I can't believe I am just 4-6 weeks from finding out what this little person is.

    3. I apparently have season allergies now? I am definitely feeling the 2nd tri energy boost, hopefully after the allergies pass I can really start to enjoy this pregnancy.

    4. DH is a union contractor, so no PTO. He will take off the day of and after my C-section and then probably have to go back to work. My mom is planning on taking vacation that next week to help out, and DH's parents are both retired so they will be available. I am a school nurse, so luckily Christmas break runs into my time off which ends up giving me a boost. I will have my c section around October 9th-ish and won't have to be back until the first or second week of January.

    DD 12/1/2009
    TTC#2 Since May 2012
Dx PCOS February 2013 on Metformin 1500 mg
Met with RE October 2013, we've got a plan!
Surprise BFP on "break cycle" 10/12/13. EDD 6/17/14.
    MMC discovered 11/25/13 at 10 weeks. D&C 11/27/13.
    BFP 2/8/14 Beta#1: 176, Prog 18! Beta#2:335, Prog, 19.5!
    EDD 10/16/2014

Congrats on the twins @lcloffredo!!  How exciting!

    1.  13w4d  2nd trimester!!!  And I almost dropped the days this week.  Maybe next week...

    2.  Nope, nothing this week.  I'll have a 14 week doppler check appointment next Monday.

    3.  Not bad.  I took the 3 flights of stairs at work this morning while carrying 3 bags if that tells you anything! :)

    4.  I don't want anybody in my house actually.  Having other people present just stresses me out more I think.  DH will take a week or two off I'm sure, and then I'll be on my own.  DS will go to daycare during the day though, so it won't be a big deal.

Eta: failed to add response to maternity leave question. I'll get 6 weeks paid and will probably take another 6 weeks unpaid
    November 2010 - 10.5 week loss  o:)
    October 2011 - DS (7)  <3
    July 2014 - Stillborn DD (24 weeks)  o:)
    August 2015 - DD (3)  <3
    April 2018 - 5 week loss o:)

  • Hope everyone is doing well! Sorry I don't check in as often anymore, we've been on the go for months it seems! But I'm happy to report that we are once again...TEAM PINK! Another girl!!!! lol. My poor husband lol

PS: Shout out to @freakyfast huge congrats to you sweetie! Can't even explain how happy I am for you!

    1. How many weeks along are you?

    17 weeks 3 days

    2. Any medical updates?

We were told we have placenta previa, hopefully it corrects itself, but apparently it is so low it's practically "in my cervix" according to my OB. Will update more when we get home from vacation and I go for my next apt.

    3. How are you feeling lately?

Feeling pretty good, still battling the morning sickness... But can't complain!

    4. QOTW: will anyone stay at your place after LO arrives to help out (family etc) and/or will DH take time off? For working moms, how long of a maternity leave do you plan to take?

We are not allowing anyone to come up and stay with us after LO arrives, we want "our" time first and make sure big sister gets a chance to bond before people start flooding in. DH is given 10 days of leave, and will probably take the rest of the month off as well.
  • Hi ladies, I'm sad to leave you guys, but it's for a very happy reason.  Carolina Elizabeth was born on Saturday, so this is my last check-in.  I will be posting a birth story, hopefully today, in a separate post on PAIF.  I wish each and every one of you a very happy, healthy, and uneventful pregnancy and labor/delivery.  I will miss being part of this community!

I am just so sorry this happened. You will be missed - your positive attitude has been something that I have tried to model. I am so sorry for your loss. We will be thinking of you.
  • Very excited to be #2 in line :)

    1. How many weeks along are you? 37 weeks
    2. Any medical updates? Weekly app't showed protein so labs drawn. Labs came back fine so baby will be cooking a little longer. My next app't is Wed.
    3. How are you feeling lately? Blah, not feeling energized or desire to do anything. Acid reflux is kicking my butt.
    4. QOTW: will anyone stay at your place after LO arrives to help out (family etc) and/or will DH take time off? For working moms, how long of a maternity leave do you plan to take? MIL is retired and will be helping out. DH is taking off the week the Baby is born. I will be off the remainder of the school year. We go back at the end of August.

    3. I am feeling ok. I get pretty tired at times but other times I am fine. This has been a completely different pregnancy so far.
