All this Esther baskets may me think a bout it. A what age is ok to allow a toddle to eat candy? I'm curious what's the best age for a LO to have some.
We gave both boys tiny little tastes of marshmallows around age 18 months. I think D was 3 when we started letting him have a piece or two as a special treat. We still limit his sweets/dessert consumption to once a week-ish at age 8. That's just what we did/do I don't know if there is a "right" age.
E got to eat a handful of those little malt eggs for Easter, as a special occasion. She is 21 months. She will get candy at Christmas too I'm sure. We don't really eat candy at our house, so it is something for us that would be a very special situation, like holidays. I'm not looking forward to her understanding Halloween or Valentine's Day and how it is apparently candy-centric. With candy you really need to think about a lot of safety items. For example, anything too chewy or hard and round could be choking hazards. She does occasionally get the gummy fruit snacks as a 'treat' though.

I think LO first had candy at Halloween. 19+ months. She certainly had cake before then though. At a birthday party on Saturday she ate a ton of m&ms. Thanks for posting. This reminds me to hide a bunch of stuff before she wakes up. I'm not sure I can do another crazy sugar day in a row.
