2WW and OTC meds

As I woke up with one of the colds that have been going around, I stood at the medicine cabinet debating taking meds to clear up the congestion. Being in the 2WW, I decided to hold off. (Particularly bc I enjoyed some Easter wine yesterday which was much more enjoyable than taking Claritin. Ha!) I tend to be more conservative on taking OTC meds unless I really need them anyway but if this doesn't start to clear up in a couple of days, I'm probably going to take something.

This got me wondering as to how you all decide when to take something or when to hold off during the 2WW?

I finally took an Aleve Saturday night. I'd been in miserable pain for 24 hrs (arthritis) and none of my alternative options (heat, stretching, warm bath, rest etc) were making a difference. I decided that if it was too early to test it was to early for an OTC that is considered relatively safe until third trimester to make a difference. I know Zyrtec is considered safe during pregnancy as is regular mucinex (not the ones with decongestant, though), so if that cold gets worse you would probably be safe with one of those.
  • Me RE told me it's ok to take Tylenol and alieve. Absolutely no ibuprofen because it can screw up the progesterone. I try not to take anything unless it's absolutely necessary.
    Fucking bump!!!!

  • wow thanks for that about ibu. That has always been my go-to for any headaches, cramps etc. But I've stayed away the past couple of months from any over the counter anything.
    TTC#1 since Aug 2013, I'm 37, DH 41.
Maya Arvigo Abdominal massage (daily self care), plus TTC meditations.
I'm very sensitive to diet (gluten, avoid processed foods) and environment. Have a history of inflammation and tendinitis before going off gluten in 2009.
July 2014 - RE Visit #1: Eggs look good, Endometrioma on R ovary, HSG showed blocked R tube close to ovary. DH SA normal
DX: Endometriosis probably the IF cause and gunking up tubes.  Since egg reserve is high, RE says I can wait a couple months and then get laproscopic surgery to remove endo & clear tube.  If that doesn't help then move to IVF.
Dec 2014 - Saw new RE - does not recommend surgery on tube as it isn't likely to help.  Doubts I have endometriosis.  My endometrioma shrunk to neglible size (yay!)
    Seriously considering IVF in March/April
    12/17/14 - Natural BFP!
