Nose congestion help

FTM here....just curious what u STMs or anyone out there have done or are doing for LOs stuffy noses. We tried the saline/bulb syringe thing but I feel like maybe I'm doing it wrong? We also used humidifier last night with minimal relief.

Called pedi who wast too worried just said to watch her and make sure no fever/distress and to watch that she is eating well.

Any suggestions?

my baby is congested today. i stuck him in his bouncer in my bathroom, shut the door and took a long, hot shower. it helped a lot!! then we snot suckered him

I put one drop of saline in each nose and then use the nose Frida snot sucker to get it out. Works like a charm. If you can get over the weirdness off it, they sell them at places like Walgreens and cvs.

I use the nose frida. Does anyone else's LO HATE it? My LO screams bloody murder when I suck out snot.

I was using the bulb syringe and lo haaaated it plus I was constant worried about jamming it up his nose when he'd flail. We got the nose frida and he doesn't love it but tolerates it a little better, I don't feel like I'm going to hurt him, and I get more snot out. 99% of the time the snot doesn't even reach the filter, so it's less gross to me than I expected. Our pedi also recommended keeping him upright as much as possible and even letting him sleep in his swing or car seat a couple nights to let it drain better. He doesn't sleep well that way and didn't sound terrible so I ignored that but it might help.

My LO has a cold, that she got from me unfortunately. Pedi said to use saline drops and suction the snot out. Also we use a humidifier at night and every morning I've been steaming her in the bathroom when I shower. The other suggestion the pedi had was to elevate her at night so that everything drains better; she will only sleep on me currently though.

We use the Nose Frida.  LO hates it, so we call it the Mother Sucker!

We just use saline mist and she tends to sneeze boogers out. I try not to mess with her nose unless it's necessary.

DD woke up congested this morning, I did 10min in the steamy bathroom, put saline drops, use the bulb syringe. Then was about 75% better. Put the humidifier on in the room while we are out, hoping it will help for tonight.

@Anneplusone Are you using saline with your snot sucker? I usually squirt some in first and suck and nothing much comes out except the saline, but a second or third time will loosen up some lovely boogies. Super gross, but I always know she must feel way better with that out of her nose!

And yes, she HATES the snot suker. And yes, I love it.

Saline + Snot Sucker.  DS has some serious boogers.  Sometimes I have to suck them out before he can eat.

I just saw a recipe...1/4 tsp mixed in 1/2 cup warm water. Anyone try this?

I also read to put the saline drops in and 30-60 seconds later, lay baby on their tummy to help with drainage. Anyone try this?
