Weight Gain with Twins

I know this is kind of a silly question, but for those of you pregnant with twins, when did you start gaining weight?  I am 8 weeks, 4 days and haven't gained any weight and my body doesn't look different at all.  I know it's still early but I get nervous that if I'm not gaining weight then the babies are not growing.  They looked great at my ultrasound last week so I am really trying hard not to worry!  Thanks for reassuring me.

We are 12 weeks 3 days with twins and @Manada has maybe gained 5 pounds (we weren't very good at doing a starting point weight). We are aiming for big second tri weight gain.
That said, even with little weight gain she definitely looks very pregnant because things have shifted around quite a bit in there and some weight seems to have come off some areas and gone other areas.

I think you will find that over the next few weeks your body starts changing and that over second tri you put on the weight (assuming, of course, that you increase your caloric intake sufficiently).

I started early but it was a bloat:) from reading lots of these message boards, we are all unique! I gained most of mine the first half, but now I am 33 weeks and haven't gained more than 5 pounds in a few months. I am feeling a little like you, but they are gaining fine:)

In 1st tri I actually lost 5lbs. Now at 23 weeks I've put those 5 back on plus 10 more. I didn't start noticeably showing until 2nd tri because I had a little tummy chub to begin with. Last Monday my babies weighed 1lb3oz and 14oz so they are doing ok, my 14oz'er is just a peanut. As long as you are getting enough to eat try not to worry about your weight.

I'm 15w1d and haven't gained anything.. I was really sick in first tri. Both my OB and MFM have said that I'm fine and not to worry.

I'm also guessing that it will depend on your starting weight. I already gained IF weight so am starting out way too heavy. Don't think they will have me gain much which is fine with me...

I carried some extra weight at the start... I'll be 10 weeks tomorrow and today I stepped on the scale and officially gained 1 pound.

I'm 8 weeks and honestly I haven't got on the scale yet. I feel like I've thickened out a little in my mid section and my skinny pants are feeling tight (actually I didn't button them on Friday), but I think it is all bloat. I started out pretty thin to begin with though so I don't have anywhere to hide it.

I was gaining about a pound a week, I had a low weight start to begin with. I'm now 25w and have gained 33 pounds. Once 2nd tri hits, you'll notice the weight gain more

I was very bloated in the beginning but lost weight in first tri overall. Second tri I put on more weight and ended up being up 26 lbs by the end of second tri. Now I'm 30 weeks and up 30 lbs total.

I wouldn't worry too much about the weight. Your doc will let you know if you need to gain more or cool it on the ice cream

In the beginning when I was very sick and not gaining I had to drink boost shakes to get my calories. Bleck!

I am just about 32 weeks and still throw up daily. I am up 15lbs.

I don't think I gained any until 16 weeks or so, but definitely had a little bump at that point. It's tough for me to really tally up my weight gain because I know I've lost a fair amount of muscle this pregnancy between not feeling physically up to doing as demanding of workouts, the physical restrictions I was given, and now being on total bedrest. Any time I have expressed concerns to my OB she has always said that as long as both of them are growing appropriately she isn't concerned. She only became concerned last week when I had lost a significant amount and was waking up hungry all night long (and unable to eat due to gestational diabetes restrictions). At that point her comment was that the babies were going to be fine and would take whatever they needed from me but that finding a way to up my calories might help me feel better.
