I did an IVF and pregnant with a singleton. With all the holidays It took us to move to a regular OB almost 11W. Now I'm 24W and I decided that I want a Natural Birth and a NB hospital with a MW, too. , and I don't want to deliver where my OB is afflitated to a different hospital. Do I have to tell them that I changed my mind of an OB to a MW?
Re: Change to MW
I had to sign paperwork stating I was moving practices.
IF, 5 losses, 1 son, 1 on the way.
Me-36, Unexplained Infertility, DH-35, all clear
Clomid 50mg 12/2011 = BFN
Clomid 100mg 1/2012 = BFN, with Cyst
IVF #1 Lupron/Menopur/Gonal-f/HCG Trigger
ER 4/19/12 = 11 retrieved, 6 fertilized,
ET 4/22/12 = 2 transfered (day 3), remaining 3 weren't good enough to freeze
Beta 5/3 = BFP, 87 Beta #2 5/7 560.9 Beta #3 5/9 1376.5 First u/s One Baby, 125bpm!
Second u/s, 176bmp! Kicked over to the OB by the RE at 8w. Team Green!!
I switched, as well, and I didn't have to tell anyone. I just called my OBs office and asked them to fax all of my paperwork over to my new MW's office. They charged me $1/page (wtf?!?), but whatever I paid it and they did it no questions asked. It happens all the time.
I haven't been charged anything for my OB visits, but I also switched in 2013 and with IVF and everything I had more than met my OOP max, so they couldn't have billed me anyway - so I'm not sure about the piece.
The only time it matters as far as where you're delivering is when you pre-register at the hospital. At that point you'd obviously want to know where you're delivering.
