Intro (warning: child mentioned, loss mentioned)

Hi, I've been lurking for the last few days and feeling guilty doing so without introducing myself. I'm in the midst of a tww following iui (our third), so I keep telling myself I'd do better just staying off the boards altogether right now. Since I clearly don't have the willpower to do so, I decided just to make it official that I'm going to hang out here for a bit. My husband and I are definitely among those for whom patience is a required ingredient of conception. We started trying to have children when I was 30 and finally got our beautiful daughter three years later. We are currently trying for our second. After exactly two years, we were thrilled to get a surprise positive in December (an off month from treatment due to cysts) and heartbroken to have a miscarriage at nine weeks. So, we're back at the RE. I'm not sure how much it helps since there's no obvious barrier to our getting pregnant, but there's really not time to be patient. I am 37 and he's turning 40. As I mentioned, I'm trying to make it through the dreaded tww right now. I had 3 large follicles and a 4th 'maybe' last week when we did our IUI, and my lining looked great. Husband's only issue is low average morphology, but he has a high count that the RE says should compensate. So, maybe this month? If we didn't already have two IUIs behind us that also looked good, I'd probably be more excited. As it is, I'm mostly impatient. It's nice to find such a friendly board.

The 2ww is so hard-- hang in there and keep busy!

Hi and welcome! I am so sorry for your loss. I hope that you receive your BFP soon. As you have probably seen, this is a caring and supportive community. I am rather new myself.

@CaraH Welcome, I am in the 2ww too. When is your Beta? Good luck to you

@Lm92599‌ My Re has me do a HPT at two weeks and only does a Beta if I get a BFP. (Or, I suppose, if AF fails to show.). My IUI was 4/11, so I can officially test next Friday. Realistically, I'll probably test Wednesday or Thursday. How long do you have left to wait? And good luck to you!

@CaraH I had my IUI on 04-07. Today I am 11dpiui and got a  BFN. My RE has me down for next Wed for a beta, but it is an hour and half drive. I think If I don't have a + by Tues, I am just going to call them. I don't feel like driving to hear what I already know. I am sorry about your loss. I hope this IUI works for you.

@Lm92599‌ I hope that BFP shows up. But, I agree that I wouldn't want to go in until it does or AF is seriously late. I literally walk to my clinic from my home, and I still wouldn't go in for that. They stick me enough!
