Re: ~ 1st Tri Check In 4/18/14 ~

  • I don't really have an update this week, except maybe that I'm now getting heartburn like crazy.  Between that and the food aversions it's tough to figure out what to eat, but at least the nausea seems to be gone.  Our next appointment is next Tuesday at 12 weeks.

QOTW- we're still trying to hide the pregnancy so we're avoiding family this weekend.  H and I will go to an Easter service on Sunday morning and just have dinner alone that night.

  • Not much new to update. I had my first ultrasound on earlier this week and everything looks good so far. Next ultrasound isn't for two weeks! This will be the the longest I have gone without see my RE since my bfp. Crazy nausea and food aversions are my biggest complaint right now.

QOTW:  We usually go to brunch on Easter Sunday.  Other than that, no plans really.  All of my family is getting together for Mother's Day since my sister is graduating college that weekend so we won't really see anyone this weekend.

  • not too much going on here. next big appointment is on 4/24 (6 days away!). We will be 11w6d and it will be with the OB. i have never been to an OB, so this should be educational.

@tippytoes06 - when do you plan on moving over to 2nd tri? i am a little confused about when the first tri ends (12, 13, or 14 w).

QOTW: MH family is all coming tonight for Easter weekend (mom, dad, brother, sil and 10 yo niece). everyone knows about Squirt, so I am hoping that it will be a fun weekend of planning and that not too many idiotic things get said by mil. We have church tonight and Sunday and now that I have my house cleaned, I am mostly looking forward to it!

  • Not too much to update here - still battling with major morning sickness and dehydration. The dehydration is causing the little one's heart rate to be a little high, but otherwise the baby is measuring right on track! Next appointment is 4/24 for our NT scan. Then our last RE appt is May 1st! So excited yet terrified to be graduating from our RE!

QOTW: we're heading to my IL's house as I type. We'll be there until Sunday morning (we'll do Easter dinner Saturday) and then Sunday evening we'll drive up to my moms for dinner. Nothing too exciting which is just fine with me. I rather sleep all weekend anyway. Lol!

@lincoln79 - I've been moving people at 13 weeks, and that's probably when I'll switch myself as well... It's right in the middle of 12-14 too, so I figured that's a good number to go with lol!

  • We had our US at 7w3d this week and still had two fantastic heartbeats at 158 and 154 (I think -- I'd have to check my siggy since I put them there first and now I can't remember). It's amazing how much more baby-like they are getting on their US photos and I'm pretty sure I can see where the little arm nubbies are sprouting. It's making it a little more real for me.

Nausea is hell right now. Oh my god. I called out sick from work yesterday because every time I stood up I felt like I was going to puke. Thankfully I've been keeping stuff down and trying to eat when it isn't grossing me out. And I'm so tired. I just had no idea that I could ever be this tired all the time (I'm normally pretty hyper and could NEVER nap, now all I want to do is sleep). This goes away, right?

QOTW: We're going to dinner at my dad's Saturday and then for an Easter egg hunt/birthday celebration for one of my nephews with DH's family Sunday. We're planning on bringing the most recent US photo and telling "all the family" that day, but I'm pretty sure they all know (his mom and his little sister -- she's 14 -- know, so my guess is the cat is totally out of the bag).

    N14 Nov. Siggy: CELEBRATION!

  • 9w5d here.  Last RE appointment yesterday.  Got to see both little beans dancing all over moving their arms and legs.  All is looking good.  A is measuring 2.65cm with a heart rate of 169, B is 2.67cm and hr of 178. Our first OB appointment is on Wednesday, and it's really getting real now!

I feel like I've gotten huge this week... So uncomfortable.. and this is just the beginning. LOL...

QOTW - we will go to church and then have lunch with my IL's... where we're planning on spilling the beans to the whole family... I'm kinda nervous.  I kinda like having this secret between us, but am ready to not be avoiding my SIL's anymore!

    Happy Easter everyone!!!

  • Whew!!  Just got back from my ultrasound and wanted to wait until I saw what was going on inside.  My one bean is doing fantastically!  HB of 169 and measuring 8w2d, so right on schedule.  After losing one of the beans last week, I was so scared and nervous about what we were going to see.  I know it's still early, but I feel much more relieved.  My RE (DH's old highschool friend) said that he was nervous all week and even told him wife that today will hopefully be a good day.  I can't say enough good things about our RE and his clinic.  Other news, I got released to my OB!!  Never thought this day would come.

QOTW - Church and then Easter at my grandpa's house.

    Happy Easter!!  God is good!

  • Hi all. New to this board and wondering if I am in the right place. Success with Ivf #2 and I am 41. I didn't have any conditions other than my age factor. Have had 3 betas with BFP! First ultra on 5/1. Looking for other Ivfers with age. Right spot! Due date Dec 10 with ? Beans.
  • Hi ladies! I'm 8w5d today. I had an OB appt/another ultrasound this week - our beans are still looking great :) My spotting has stopped (knock on wood) and morning sickness has been on and off. Some days are rough, others not too bad. Zofran has been helping a lot.

QOTW: Going to an egg hunt w/ my toddler niece, then Easter dinner @ my parents' house. Crossing my fingers it's a "good" morning sickness day!

It's twin girls!! Born on 11-2-14!

  • We are 12w2d and doing great. Both twins looked great at our NT scan yesterday. They were measuring right on track with lots of movement and heartbeats of 158 and 168. We graduated from the RE! And @Manada got to stop progesterone and estrogen this week so that is awesome.
It feels like it was very recently that I was hesitating to join this check in because we would be the very last on the due date list and now we are so close to the top!

I'm really excited because I have my appointment with the breastfeeding clinic on weds next week so I can start my induced lactation protocol.

@lincoln79 I was wondering the same thing about the check-in switchover. The generic text in each checkin for 1st and 2nd tri talks about the 14th week so we weren't sure if that meant when we got to 14w or what, especially since the checkins aren't all the same day. I'm excited to be so close to second tri but it doesn't actually feel real that we are that close!

QOTW: we are going to M's moms house on Sunday for dinner.

We're queer. I'm 33, have severe stage 4 endo, and had both fallopian tubes removed. My love ("Manada" on the boards, 32) was diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve. We did Partner IVF (my eggs, her uterus). We lost our twins Tavin and Casey at 21 weeks gestation.

  • Hi all! I'm trucking along at 8w2d with one LO. Still experiencing brown spotting due to my awesome "friable cervix." It's annoying, but not alarming at all anymore. I have my first OB appt with the nurse and an ultrasound by a midwife next Wednesday. I'm excited to see LO again flailing some arms and legs around this time :)
QOTW: We will still be on vacation in FL until Monday, so Easter with my ILs. I love them and they're great, but I'm ready for my own house and to not have my mil watching my every move.

QOTW: just having easter dinner with the family.

  • I just hit 13 weeks! I can't believe next week ill be in my 2nd Tri!! It's a big relief to made it this far (thanks again IF brain)! Not a whole lot to report, 3hr glucose test came back normal! No diabetes for this mama ! I'm happy my energy is coming back and morning sickness is calming down (however mulch is not my friend, almost threw up on my way in & out of mall today). I look forward to seeing you all in 2nd Tri!

QOTW: my SIL is getting baptized, communion , & confirmed on Saturday night. Then Easter at my moms.
Me: 33 - PCOS & Hypothyroidism DH: 35 - SA is good Married since 2010 (together since 2006) TTC since June 2009 (we knew we would have issues and wanted family right away after we got married). No pregnancies yet. May 2013 - started first round of Chlomid & ovidrel cycle.
  • Went to the ER last night with really bad cramping and pressure. I know some cramping is normal but I've just felt something was off this whole pregnancy. My ultrasound at 6 weeks showed a little bean with a heartbeat and I know that shouldn't be reason for concern but I wasn't convinced, something felt off. Well I was right because my ultrasound yesterday showed something they didn't see at the first ultrasound, another freakin baby! I don't think I could have been more surprised. Last ultrasound they also saw only one place where an egg was released. I'm shocked confused but most important I don't feel like something is wrong anymore and both babies look strong and healthy! I am going to the midwives on Monday and I will let them give me an official due date since my pregnancy has been dated differently every time I get checked out. I hope we get a clearer picture on their machine!
Well that's a lovely surprise! Congratulations on twins!

    Congrats on twins!!

    AFM:
I had my follow up ultrasound this morning. Baby A has an increased heart rate which is now at 116; not quite average in increase but my RE seemed pretty confident that it will make it today. Baby B's little heart has stopped; it is probably for the best as my RE says it most likely wasn't chromosomally normal. So I'm experiencing a lot of mixed emotions. I'm hoping that I either pass baby B or it gets absorbed quickly.

Hi everyone I'm 12 weeks 5 days this week. Not a whole lot going on here meeting with an advanced maternal age doctor the week after next week, and will go to my Obgyn's office may 8th for baby check in appointment with an ultrasound the following week.I'm hoping our baby has moved positions so that it's not behind my bone so that they can find the heartbeat with the regular doppler and that they will be able to do an abdominal ultrasound, last time our little miracle could only be seen transvaginally because of my tilted uterus. Qotw: having Easter with my family

    TTC since 2012

    Dx : DOR

IUI #1 (Follistim switched over to Menopur injections) - BFN

Attempted IUI #2 (Menopur injections only cycle) better response on the Menopur then the Follistim combination treatment cycle however my cycle was still canceled due to my eggs not maturing and follicles not growing enough on a high dose of Menopur (Re said I could try a cycle of comid + ovidrel  for an IUI) for my second IUI( praying this works for us)

Clomid + Ovidrel protocol worked still a BFN as a result

Attempted cycle  Clomid  + Ovidrel protocol for IUI # 3 (Unable to do this cycle due to a cyst)

    IUI # 3 Clomid+ Ovidrel protocol - BFP    Beta #1 752  Beta #2  1536    Beta #3 3797

  • 11w6d today. Had the NT u/s and associated bloodwork done yesterday. DH had not been to an u/s since week 6 (unable to get that much time off with the RE). It was a surprise to see how much development had occurred in the extremities. LO is approx 2 inches long and cooperated with scan.

Feeling blessed and luck to not be experiencing m/s, but not really feeling this is real w/o evidence or symptoms. Although having a normal sense of smell again and not napping all the time have to be improvements.

  • Good morning ladies.  I have been late to check-in alot lately.  My next appointment is tomorrow and I am excited to see my LO again.  Plus tomorrow is my Mat21 test, I am excited to hear that everything is normal with the babe and the gender.  I wonder how long the results will take? I have had bad nausea lately, which only makes me smile.   Other than that I am doing pretty well.  Trying to be patient as much as I can.

  • I haven't updated in a while cause I've been so nervous that something wasn't right.  I wasn't feeling the same in the past couple of weeks and I was released from the RE about two weeks ago so I've been trying to be patient and holding my breathe since.

Had my first OB appt today and things look good.  I explained I have had a lot of bleeding from week 6-9 and I was a bit nervous.  She took an ultrasound just to show me a heartbeat.  No measuring just a quick scan to assure me all was well.  Happy to report all was well.

NT scan in two weeks and then next OB appt 2 weeks after that.  I can't believe this is real.  I am 10w3d today.  Crazy!!!

  • @lclofreddo double congrats on the twins!

@O2girl thoughts & prayers being sent your way. Glad to hear that baby A is a fighter & so sorry to hear about baby B.

Sorry for the late response, we were at my parents house for the holiday weekend - a very busy and tiring weekend. Today, I'm 10w6d. I had my first Ob appointment last week. He said everything looked good - babies were measuring right where they should be. Finally, got to hear the heartbeats - very cool! Got my blood drawn for the materniti21 test. My next appointment is in 2 weeks, only because my RE forgot to send over my records. After that appointment, the doc said he will be weaning me down to monthly appointments.

QOTW: We were at my parents house for the holiday. They were in shock that 1) we were expecting (we've been married for almost 8 years), and 2) that it was twins! My husband stood off in the corner and recorded the whole thing. . .it was priceless. BTW I didn't realize they didn't have u/s in the 70's (my mom didn't know what she was looking at. . .even with the cute little saying on the side of the picture frame). We told our brothers via facetime, and let an Aunt and cousin who we are very close in on the secret too. We've told them to keep it under wraps because we are visiting my husband's parents this weekend to tell them.
