Pregnant after a Loss

Intro and please talk me down

Hi ladies! I have been on here before but it was a couple years ago when i was pregnant with my son. I suffered a miscarriage with my first pregnancy at 8.5 weeks. I thought at first maybe this pregnancy would be easier than the last since I had my son, but I feel just as anxious as before. I had my first appt and ultrasound at 9 weeks and everything looked good. This was after my last loss milestone, but I had an ultrasound with that pregnancy a few days before I miscarried, so for me the reassurance is short lived. I am 11 weeks today and I keep having these irrational fears that I am having a missed miscarriage. I don't feel like I am showing at al and I always hear people say the second time around they showed so much quicker, etc. I know it doesn't make any sense, but my mind is playing tricks on me today. I go back to the doctor on the 30th for another u/s. Just trying to take it one day at a time until then...

Re: Intro and please talk me down

  • Congrats on your great 9 week u/s and on passing such a big milestone. I'm sorry you're feeling frightened today, and I hope it will pass soon. It's so hard when your brain knows all the signs are good, but your heart just won't believe it. Sending you good vibes & fx for reassuring news on the 30th.

Congratulations and welcome to the board!  I'm sorry you're feeling so anxious!  You're definitely not alone in those thoughts and feelings, a lot of us here feel the same way on a daily basis.

I have one DD at home and have heard that you show a lot earlier the second time around, but, I'm not, other than just the normal bloat.  I have had zero morning sickness (I'm thankful for this now) and have felt really good except for sore BBs and a little more tired.  I had my first ultrasound yesterday at 8+2 and everything was progressing beautifully.

I hope and pray your AL brain calms down and you're able to enjoy the little miracle you are growing right now!  I know, easier said than done…  (((hugs)))

ETD: Sorry, missed how far along you were in your post.  Blond moment… :\">
