BLW Question

I know we get a lot of these, sorry. I have a question though. I know that they say to not introduce dairy until they are a year old. Is that the same for BLW.

I am making an omelette for lunch. I thought it may be a good time to try out eggs, but it will have milk and cheese in it.

So should I avoid feeding this to her?

Re: BLW Question

  • cheese is okay, milk is not.

  • I though milk was ok if it was cooked in something -- so milk cooked in the eggs would be fine, no?

This. I thought you were just supposed to wait to offer it as a drink until one. Everything else is fine.

honestly, i don't know.....my non professional opinion would think it's okay--since the reason you can have yogurt/cheese early is because it's been processed a lot more than straight milk. as long as there's not too much i'm sure it would be fine......personally, however, i would avoid it for a few more months.

p.s. do you always use milk in your eggs? i normally make eggs with just olive oil.

  • I absolutely hate milk in my eggs! A little EVO and salt for the win. I've read about babies digesting milk and it's too harsh on their stomach still. I wouldn't try milk yet.

I gave V milk in eggs last night. She's still alive. Carry on!

Eggs were already scrambled with milk when I asked the question

  • Actually the proper french way to make scrambled eggs is to separate the egg yolk from the white.

-Add butter to a saucepan and whisk the egg whites until you get a 'snow flurry' effect.
-Then add the yolk and continue whisking on med low heat till almost set but still slightly runny.
-Add more butter to glaze it.
-Take saucepan off heat when they still look a bit runny. They will continue to cook in the pan for a few seconds and become the BEST scrambled eggs ever.

    :) mmmmm
