A woman just posted on 1st trimester board that her transvaginal u/s was the most embarrassing and uncomfortable test she has ever had (completely paraphrasing)

If only I haven't had the dildo cam probably close to 50 times AND watched another woman have the dildo cam so she can carry our child, then maybe I might have some sympathy for you.

I just needed to let that out, and though the vent might be better appreciated on this board.

Haha! Wow, she's in for a rude awakening! My ob was practically elbow deep in my vag doing a cervical check yesterday...nbd. Seriously, after giving birth once and dealing with infertility...I have no shame anymore.

Haha. So true. It's amazing how quickly the "vagicwand" becomes a part of our life. (I'm not saying that it isn't traumatic the first time or subsequent times. Just that it's a whole different set of experiences PAIF folks have.)

Also, I think having a transvaginal ultrasound in order to see your baby's growth and heartbeat is a totally different experience than having the transvaginal ultrasound to tell you once again that infertility is ruling the day and your body is not doing any of the things you've poured your heart, time, and money into making it do. Just saying!

My most embarrassing and uncomfortable test was the HSG when my bilaterally blocked tubes swelled up like water balloons and I screamed so loud that I scared the folks in the waiting room--a fact I learned when I had to go past them all to change out of my gown.

I seen her post on First Tri too.  I just kinda giggled to myself.  I had a date with the vagcam today myself, but don't need to be a drama queen about it!

Sometimes I can't stomach fertile people and their drama.  If she knew how many rough vagcam dates we've gone through for months on end, she would shut her trap!

Here, here! People who have never gone through treatments don't realize what we have had to endure- and even continue to endure after the much sought after BFP. It has become so routine to me (the dildocam) that I don't bat an eye anymore.

Our perspectives (pg vs PAIF or PGAL) are sooo different that I eye roll many things on the tri boards.

Any modesty that I may have had at some point is loooooong gone. I assumed that most of my first tri USs would be vagcam so when I went to my 8 week OB appt and started stripping waist down in the US room the doctor got uncomfortable and was like, oh no we're doing abdominal this time. Graduating from the vagcam was an exciting day!! Naive fertiles. Although I probably would've been more traumatized by it the first time if an IRL IF friend hadn't warned me in advance.

I saw that and laughed to myself about it. 

When I went to my first OB appointment when I was pregnant with DS, the u/s tech asked me if I would feel more comfortable inserting the probe myself.  I laughed and told her that I was a pro and to go for it.  Luckily DH sort of explained that a little further because, unless she read my chart, that could sound pretty bad!!

Ha.... Every time I see my RE I assume the position with my pants off. My DH swears that the wand has seen more action than he has over the last year..... Sadly that may be true :-\"

All that said.... I would give anything to be "embarrassed" by the wand again... Just saying

That is awesome.  My RE is associated with the University health system so every time I have a date with the dildo cam it is me, my RE, my nurse and about 2-4 med students and residents.  More people have seen my goods in this town than I ever care to.  Oh to still be embarrassed by the dildo cam . . .

Ha! I remember a chick on my BMB saying the dildo cam "mortified" her and she had to have her husband leave the room because she was so embarrassed to have him see her practically molested by the ultrasound.

I must be a total hussy because I look forward to the vagcam. It means I'm going to see my babies!

Wow...yeah I got used to it at my RE. In fact DH and I were watching reruns of the show Friends a few weeks ago. They showed Rachel's first ultasound and my DH said they didn't even use the wand on her, that was way too quick. The things infertility has taught us.

Ha. . Ha!!! Too funny. I'm in assumption now too that it will always be the vagcam. When DH came for the IUI appointments, he was really taken back, he was not prepared for the vagcam (and I didn't warn him b/c it wasn't something new to me). He was like the shoved that in you and you are just having a normal conversation with the tech. Ahh . . .to be embarrassed those were the days!

I appreciate the sincere kindness on this board because on the tri boards many posts are so mean:( Ii don't think I've even posted there. Didn't anyone teach them if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all? As towards the topic of the vag u/s...ha...I was afraid to give blood before this journey of surgeries, hsg's, shg's, shots. Now, I just think what's next. I've even wondered if I should stop teaching which I love and pursue something if related because you learn so much.
