Hello & Intro (losses mentioned)

Hello everyone - I'm new here & really hoping to stick around. Last July I had a natural MC at 8 weeks, and then an ectopic PG in December. I'm now 6wks + 2 days, and I feel like the clock has slooooooowed down so much. So far all the signs are good - betas were doubling and the first U/S looked good. Now I'm waiting for the next appointment in 2 weeks. I'm trying to remind myself that things look good, but I'm finding waiting & worrying even harder than I expected it would be. When it gets tough, what do you say to yourself that helps? Any advice would be so welcome. 

I'm looking forward to cheering you all on!

Welcome and congrats!! I try to just take one day at a time and realize each pregnancy is different and the past does not dictate your future outcomes. It's great you had a wonderful first u /s!!

Welcome and congratulations! I'm so sorry for your previous losses. The only thing that helps me is to remind myself that today I am pregnant; who knows what tomorrow will bring, but today is a good day.

@haleyusf - I like this idea of "today I am pregnant." I think I haven't let myself feel that, if that makes sense. And zeroing in on just on today is really necessary.

I try to remind myself of this too. Odds are on our side...

Congratulations and welcome!!  I'm due in December also  I found out super early that I was pg (3 weeks 2 days), so I've got a lot of days to worry over before I get to my major milestones!  Looking forward to getting to know you in the next 9 months!!!

Welcome and congratulations!  Not sure if you're religious or anything but honestly, a lot of prayer has helped me this far!  And a few of our close friends who have known from the beginning have helped me to stay positive.  They remind me what a blessing this baby is and how we've been praying for it for a long time!  I'm glad you've had a good ultrasound and great betas already!

Congrats and welcome! I'm still pretty early too and still trying to get a grasp on my anxiety as well. I do love the pgal mantras I think someone has a list but I am another fan of today I am pregnant and I love my baby!

Congrats! I also try to remind myself that every pregnancy is different and that the chances of things working out are much better than not. Also that worrying won't change the outcome. I have started to write down the things that have gone right so far when I am feeling down or hopeless. It's a very hard journey but you aren't alone and we are here for you. Take it a day or a moment at a time.

Congratulations!!! It is very hard to get through the PGAL brain. I am also 6w (I think, it hasn't actually been confirmed yet) and grappling with my fears. I am actually seeing a therapist to help me deal with all of my anxiety. I started seeing her after my 2nd loss and I am really grateful to have her now because I unexpectedly got pregnant again and she has been so helpful! I would say find something that works for you, and if you can't talk to anyone in particular about it, then you always have us! :-)

@JCM285 - I'm glad you found a therapist that is helping, and that you're taking care of yourself. Congrats on your surprise pregnancy! When will you get to get it confirmed? 

I actually started seeing a therapist after the 2nd loss to help with grief/anxiety, but it wasn't all that helpful and I've stopped seeing her. Maybe it just wasn't the right person. However, I do see a bodyworker and strange as it sounds, she is actually more helpful than the therapist.
