Re: Weekly Check In

  • Liz from Jacksonville, FL
Technically TTC for 6 days. LOL. Just came off BC
This cycle I'm just getting to know my "cycle" more, so I'm playing observer.
Right now, I'm in the middle of AF visit, so I am CD4
This cycle will be more "wait and see" for me. I'm gearing up for may which will be "full on" BD time!

    QOTW:
I have a group of GF who I chat with on FB and they are my biggest cheerleaders. I can pretty much talk to them about anything. I'm open with those closest to me about our plans, parents, best friends. But I haven't discussed it with my bosses yet. That will have to wait until after I'm PG.

Edit: The dot arrived. I am CD1. Ultrasound and monitoring on Monday to start medicated cycle #2 with IUI.

    2. 18 months...gosh a year and a half. Time flies!

    3. I am currently trying to drop weight so I can do my first IUI in June. I feel like we are taking an unofficial break because I'm really not obessing anymore. I'm not charting, temping, OPKing or anything. It's actually kinda nice!

    4. I O'd earlier this week. I actually felt it happening this time, never had that happen before. It's funny how in tune you get w/ your body when TTC.

    5. Since we haven't BD'd in a while, I'm not very hopeful.

    QOTW:
My DH is my #1 supporter; he hugs me when I start a new cycle and is ready to BD when I say it's time. Ohterwise, I have told a few people. My best friend, who is a big supporter. Another girlfriend who is going through this same process, just a few steps ahead of me. And my mom. I don't tell her EVERYTHING, just that we are having trouble and seeking help. They are all great support and I lean on them when I need to. And of course, you all and this board. Knowing there are other people out there dealing with this stuff is a comfort. I wouldn't wish this on anyone, but at least we can help each other through it.

On that note, I want to give a shout to @ksgsmu & @BeckyP005. I think you are both waiting on your DEs this month. Good luck and we'll be here rooting for you!!!

  • @mommalawyer, I'm sorry. :(

    1. Davie813, Chicago

    2. Cycle #4, TTC #2

    3. Preseed, lots of supplements and vitamins, etc, got 7 dpo progesterone test this cycle.  Will get RE referral if next two cycles are unsuccessful.

    4. 9 dpo.  Yeah, lots of phantom symptoms this time around--cramping, skin break out, fatigue, nausea...I think it's a combination of wishful thinking and the fact that I'm actually sick. :-<

    5. Not hopeful.  Had negative hpt this morning (I know, I know...should have waited.)

    6. My husband!  He's been amazing.  Other than him, I've told a few close friends/family that we would like a second child and/or are trying, but no details.  As the process goes on, I will probably talk about it more with my best friend, but other than that, I think I'll keep it to myself.  Who knows, though?

    3. Reciprocal IVF (Laire's eggs, I'm carrying) with donor sperm. Also giving half of Laire's eggs to her sister and her FI for their IVF.
    4. We have picked a sperm donor, and Laire, @Astrabacus, her FI and I have all been given the good to go, so we are now waiting on Laire getting to CD 3 so she can go on birth control and we can all get synced up.
    5. Impatient for it to start!

QOTW: Laire and @Astrabacus. We are all going through this together, and it's great that we can all lean on each other a bit. But all of our family and close friends know we are TTC. Laire wanted to be very open about it so that our mothers would stop asking when we were going to get married. It didn't work.

    1. Your Name or Screen Name ( not full names) and State you are from...

    URMySunshine77 from California

    2. How long have you been TTC? TTC#1 or TTC#2, 3 etc...?

TTC#2 for two months, NTNP for three months before that

    3. What are you doing this cycle?

Temping, PNV, drinking decaf green tea, starting OPKs for the first time on CD10.

    4. Where are you in your cycle? ( Waiting to O, 2WW etc) If in the 2ww when will you test? Experiencing any weird "phantom" symptoms ladies in your 2ww?

Today is CD10. DH knows that we need to HIO this weekend, Monday, and Tuesday. I hope that he supports this. After talking so much with all of you, I really feel like he cracks under the pressure, and I respect that. I've backed off and I'm trying to preach less.

    5. How do you feel about this cycle? (Are you hopeful, anxious... etc)

I am feeling really relaxed, but of course that might change in the 2WW. Ugh, that span of time is always so stressful.

    QOTW:
Who is your #1 support system while TTC? Are you open about trying?

My middle sister is TTC#1. She is 33 and an RN. She has always been less emotional and more rationale than me. She answers my health questions and helps quell my obsessing.

@mommalawyer: I'm so sorry. :-( I am rooting for you.

@MamaBear904: good luck with your observation this cycle. I kind of feel the same way. My O date may or may not be when I expect it. Or I might not O. I'm just trying to be realistic.

@soontobeshrader: That is so cool that you identified the O day. I love when that happens. It's also wonderful that your SO is so supportive. He is a gem.

@Davie813: Don't feel bad. I took a HPT at 8DPO last month, silly me. I'm also glad to hear that you can talk to your DH about TTC.

@BeckyP005: I'm glad that everything looks good and that your transfer day is approaching. Much love!

    GTKY:

I've only told one person really. DH and I are quite open with each other about it, but I've been keeping my cards close to my chest. I think that I'm hesitant because I know that my mother (especially) will be "why would you want to start all over again, your kids are half raised." I feel like she will judge our choice. When she was my age, she almost died after a botched operation and spent the next ten years suffering. I lost my childhood then because I had to take care of her and my younger sister. She remembers herself at this age and doesn't see that I'm young, active and healthy. Age is more than a number to her; I have to really think about it when someone asks how old I am...
  • soontobeshrader - glad to hear that you're enjoying this more! Not obsessing is awesome - tough, but awesome!

    5. Meh.  I suspect O was delayed, since I didn't see a temp shift until 5 days after my pos OPK

DH is my #1 supporter, and my absolute partner in all this. He's been so patient and encouraging when I get anxious, and has listened carefully when I've explained the ol' how-things-actually-work.  I've told my closest peeps - a few close friends, sister, mom. They're all supportive, though I don't talk with them about it that much.

QOTW: DH of course - without him I would be a mess.  He is my rock.  But also my 2 closest girl friends get a lot of the details and have been crucial to me as well.  They both have kids but the 3 of us are so close and they have been wonderful.  Another very close friend who just had her DD today also has been a big support (she also suffered IF and went through IVF).  A lot of our good friends do know we have been trying and a handful know we are going down the IF/IVF/FET road - but they don't get the day to day or updates - and they have been very nice, supportive and respectful of our not wanting to talk about it or give updates.  Turns out several of them have gone through it so that helps knowing so many success stories.  Both our families know we are doing IVF but none of the details. (we bought our house in 2012 - a 3 BR - so it wasn't rocket science that we wanted a family at some point.

    5. Never got a positive OPK, so not hopeful. Whatever, didn't really want a Dec/Jan baby. (totally j/k... although when we started I had the schedule all planned out and knew exactly when I wanted baby to come... so funny to think I used to care so much way back when, now I'll take anything!)

QOTW: I'm super private, at least when it comes to talking about BD and AF. Chalk that up to my Baptist upbringing :) So DH shoulders most of my support... and he's great. Oddly, he talks to his guy friends about it more than I talk to anyone... probably because he's more comfortable talking about BD!
Well, I have God too, I'd be a mess without my faith. A couple close friends know we are TTC and are supportive, but are themselves CFNBC, so I don't really feel comfortable venting to them about our troubles.

  • 1. Your Name or Screen Name ( not full names) and State you are from...

    Rosie - Northern California

    2. How long have you been TTC? TTC#1 or TTC#2, 3 etc...?

    TTC #2 - 2nd Month/Cycle

    3. What are you doing this cycle? Are you seeking help with a fertility specialist ( RE)? If so where are you at? Testing? Medicated cycles? IUI? IVF? Charting/temping?

More aware of when to BD this time around. DH wanted to do it EVERY DAY last month. Now I know that's not the best idea.

    4. Where are you in your cycle? ( Waiting to O, 2WW etc) If in the 2ww when will you test? Experiencing any weird "phantom" symptoms ladies in your 2ww?

AF came on 4/16/14. I had total 'phantom' symptoms before AF (frequent urination, soreness in my chest, cramping)

    5. How do you feel about this cycle? (Are you hopeful, anxious... etc)

I'm trying to feel positive about this cycle. Of course I'm hopeful. Last month was our 1st month of trying and I felt really nervous, but since it didn't happen, it has just made me appreciate it all that much more when/if it does happen.
DH and I conceived in the 1st month of trying with our daughter. Well, she'll be 8 next month, so it's been awhile and our bodies have changed. He was definitely under the impression that it was going to happen right away.

    QOTW:
Who is your #1 support system while TTC? Are you open about trying?

DH is definitely my #1 supporter. I have also recently shared with my mom and a co-worker. They are the only ones that know that we are 'actively' trying.

    Me: 38 ~  DH: 38 ~   DD: 8
    TTC #2 since March/April 2014.

Tene' (sounds like Renee) from Michigan

    2. How long have you been TTC? TTC#1 or TTC#2, 3 etc...?

4 months TTC #1 with FF and Ovia

    3. What are you doing this cycle? Are you seeking help with a fertility specialist ( RE)? If so where are you at? Testing? Medicated cycles? IUI? IVF? Charting/temping?

First month using BBT, OPK and CM.  DH got an SA and is A-OK

    4. Where are you in your cycle? ( Waiting to O, 2WW etc) If in the 2ww when will you test? Experiencing any weird "phantom" symptoms ladies in your 2ww?

I am at 6 DPO.  I will probably test next weekend if AF doesn't show.  I haven't had any phantom symptoms.  But my chart makes me hopeful at this point.  Feel free to take a look and give me your opinion.

    5. How do you feel about this cycle? (Are you hopeful, anxious... etc)

I am cautiously hopeful but laid back.  This board and all you ladies have helped me to calm the eff down and realize that there are numerous women who, despite all the best timing, temping, OPKing, CMing, etc., there are no guarantees for a BFP.  So now I've just decided to sit back, relax and enjoy my marriage and learning all I can along the way about my body during this journey.

    QOTW:
Who is your #1 support system while TTC? Are you open about trying?

DH is definitely my number one support.  I am pretty open.  I think most people are just living their own lives and could care less whether I got KU'd or not.  So when they ask sometimes while making small talk I don't get defensive I just say we'll see how things go but we'd like to have children.

Thanks for encouraging me to check in here @kindershlitz !
