My MIL baby talks and taunts my niece and nephew. I absolutely love her but it might get interesting if these types of things go on with my kids.

My niece is 4 and she has always been moody. When she won't give my MIL a hug or a kiss my MIL will put on a pouty face, cross her arms and in a baby voice say "aww youre making MiMi so sad" and pretend to cry.

The nephew is 8 and sometimes has trouble with his report card grades. She gives him $20 BUCKS for each A (I don't agree with this method of rewards). Anyways when he brings home something other than A's she has to announce it to the family (when we are all together) that J saved her $$$ and now she gets to buy herself ice cream (or some other treat) and he can't.

It is never ok to where your pjs in public. every. if you do i will not hesitate to judge you and assume you are lazy and have given up. It takes 30 seconds to put on jeans.

If you feel that you are the exception at least wear black yoga pants or similar if you must. christmas in july is even tackier.

I am not a mom yet, and I realize that time is often of the essense when you have kids, so maybe I shouldn't judge, but is it really that difficult to throw together something healthy for a 2 year old? Today my MIL posted on FB that my nieces had finished a dozen cookies before breakfast. If she thinks that's going to fly around my house she is dead wrong. I don't know that there's a magic age where the odd fast food meal is okay, but I don't think that 2 year olds are asking for McDonald's for lunch if they've never had it before.

I'm pretty sure I might get flamed for this but it's UO Thursday so it's okay.

DS hasn't had McDonalds but he has had fast food and he is 1. We usually stick to chik-fil-a I think it is definitely a first time mom thing to think you will get around it.  I already have to hide if I want to eat a reeses and not share and ice cream can only be had after he goes to bed because these little human steal all of your food lol

My DD is 2 1/2 and never had fast food, so it's not a FTM thing.

Yes she can be. I'm not gonna lie though. My niece and nephew are very difficult children. My BIL and SIL have allowed them to do whatever they want because it was "cute" when they were little. They are the type of children that will throw their Christmas presents into the trash pile and move to the next one if they don't like it. I'm hoping that she only acts this way because of how they act and re-act to things.

I may be a FTM but the behavior that my niece and nephew are allowed to display in public and at home will not be tolerated at my house. So hopefully my MIL will be more relaxed around my children and less taunting of their faults.

I am irrationally annoyed by the baby size to fruit and veg comparisons. Some of them don't make rational sequential sense a sweet potato before a mango really? And nobody f-ing even eats jackfruit or durian. Annoying.

I completely agree!  We've already decided that there will be no pictures of LO's face on any type of social media.  It'll probably be a hard rule for my sister and my mom (who have my niece plastered all over the fb pages), but too bad.

Totally agree! Some of those I wonder if the person who chose the fruits for examples has ever eaten fruit before. The sizes are all over the place!

Since we're talking about kids and eating habits, my UO is I can't stand when families allow the child/children to skip dinner if they don't like it and eat whatever they want.  You eat what I make or you don't eat.  That's how SO was raised, that's how I was raised and that's how we're going to raise DS and this LO. 

Like that Pediasure (or whatever) commercial from a while back with a toddler in the cart telling the mom not to buy broccoli and chicken or whatever because she doesn't like it.  No.  Absolutely not.  Planning meals that are kid friendly?  That's fine, but the menu should not begin and end with the kids' preferences.

I am sorry but I have to let this one out! I totally dislike disrespectful & spoiled children! I was in the market this morning and there was a lady who literally had to leave her shopping cart full of stuff and haul her about 5 yr old child out of there because she refused to buy him some gummy candy. He was kicking, screaming and carrying on . He even called her stupid!!! She turned to everybody n said I'm srry he's just spoiled! 10 minutes later, I'm walking around in the store, she is back, carrying his butt around with the gummy candy in his hand. He looked at me and smirked!!!!!? Lmao

Meh, this isn't such a big deal to me. DD usually eats what we do but if I know she's not gonna like it I'll pop a few chicken nuggets in the oven (usually has green beans with it) or some pasta with peas or something quick. Oh yea, I'm tired of seeing children with silver caps in their mouth to save their teeth from rotting! I have seen this a lot lately and it disgusts me. I blame the adults . Why is this kid not being taught proper dental hygiene or told not to eat sugar every minute of the day!? I seen a brother and sister yesterday couldn't be older than 5 or 6 ?

Alright, I'm gonna speak up... does UO=Unusual opinion??? That't the only thing I can come up with (after 30 minutes of frustration). Is this a Bump exclusive abbreviation or did my Google searches and internetslang search fail me?

Secondly, how do all of you ladies know this?!?!?!  I feel so left out  I'm active on a few other online forums, but none of them have abbreviations like ya'll... it's a little scary.

And I'm not talking about occasional either.  I have friends who do this every meal and can't figure out why their kids only eat corn dogs and chicken nuggets.

I think it's supposed to be "length" versus just the size.  But still... my favorite is a banana.  I have had a small 4 inch banana before and the other day I swear the banana was a foot long!  They should have a better measuring system by now...

DD started getting motion sickness at 1 year.  No medicines are approved for 1 year olds, and even the seabands don't come that small.   

Oh, I feel the weight of judgment.  I also try to remember that not all parents are breaking the rules because they're ignorant or lazy.  I'm just so, so, so relieved we weren't in an accident.

You have stolen my heart with both of these. I have been wearing yoga pants because of bloat. But I ALWAYS put my jeans on to go pick up SD from school. I am out of the car for 5 minutes max.

As for Christmas, keep that shit in December. GAHHH! Drives me nuts. Could be because I did years of retail, but I think it is just ridiculous.

I was honked at for doing so once and wolf-whistled at. Not happening again!

Children learn how to talk and learn language by being talked to. The first year is crucial for exposure to language. The more words a child hears, the better they do in reading etc later on....it's been studied over and over. So I applaud a mom talking to her 2 month old about what she is doing. The biggest mistake you can make is thinking that, just because thy can't talk back, then you don't need to talk to them.

I find this okay. Those are uncomfortable and ling circumstances. Get out of jail free card granted.

I hate that most people find out the sex of their baby. It is one of the few true surprises left in life, and unless this is the third baby which may require certain room changes and transitions, there is no real need to know. It won't make a difference, you are still having the baby.

I also strongly detest gender reveals.

Very unpopular opinion. I know it. It's fine that I am in the minority, and people disagree.

But it is still a surprise, you are just surprised sooner!

This! I feel like it's just as big of a surprise whether you find out at 20 weeks or 40 weeks. Let's be real, 40 weeks is a decent chunk of time. It's nice to have something big to look forward to half way through, and then at the end you're obviously just looking forward to meeting your baby!

There is nothing better than giving birth to your baby and finding out what they look like and whether you have a son or daughter. It makes the whole process so much more bearable.
