26 hours of nonprogressive labor

18 hours total were 5 mins or closer, of those 12 hours were 2 minutes apart. since I wasn't 39 weeks yet the hospital policy is to not help me along at all. they ended up giving me a med to stop the contractions. It is very discouraging, and as a 2nd time mom I now have fears that when we go again, be it natural or induced, I again will not progress and will end up in a C-section. This is my 2nd child, first labor was very easy so new territory for me all together. Has anyone had subsequent labors that did not progress?

eta: this was days ago now, so I of course made the mistake of watching a youtube of a c-section lol

sorry you are still waiting :(( I have been completely MIA. I dont get maternity leave until the day I deliver, so it has been all go go go over here. I havent been able to keep up with the board at all! and hugs help immensely :)
  • OMG that sounds like absolute torture! From experience, I can say that when your body is in go mode the meds don't work (mag did nothing to slow my labor with DS, but worked well in this pregnancy for preterm contractions). Hoping it was just a false start and you're in labor with good progress soon! ((HUGS))
