Sick husband & newborn

So what of course my husband is sick as a dog with that I think is a cold / allergies.. I'm so upset because I'll just die if the baby gets sick he's 2 weeks old. My husband is kinda ignorant and dosent see it as a big deal that he's sick and thinks I'm over reacting :-( !! Any advice so the baby won't get sick? I'm doing all the feedings and he's not holding him..

Wash your hands and DH needs to be religious about it too, even if not holding the baby.

DH should go to the doctor. My husband got sick when my DS was born, turns out he had a very bad case of pneumonia! It was awful, & he was almost hospitalized. DS and I had to stay at my parents' home while my sis-in-law took care of my hubby. If you are breast feeding, your milk should help your LO's immune system, but you should still be careful. Maybe until your hubby is better, you and LO should sleep in a separate room from him.

Hand washing is the best preventative. Soon after my premie was discharged from the NICU my son came down with a terrible cold. I kept him home from daycare for 2 days with just me watching them both. DH got it too but our premie never did. I just tried to keep ds from touching or breathing on her and we all washed our hands often.

I'm on the same boat. MH is so in love with our sweet girl that he can't stop kissing her. At first he thought it was just allergies but now he's being more careful she's being breasted and I'm keeping a close eye on her.

My son is sick with a cold and we have a 9 day old. She is being breasted so that helps but we are really keeping the kids separated as well. Ds has been down in the tv room snuggling up watching tv and I'm keeping dd upstairs away from him. Yesterday we just kept him out of her face and didn't let him touch her but his cough sounds worse today so I'm upping the germaphobia a bit

My husband has strep! Ugh ! We made sure to wash hands, sanitize, and he hasn't held the baby all week. He also slept on the couch because we nurse in bed at night . Your husband should take it seriously sorry he's not . I also have a cold along with the other 5 people in the house . Baby seems good now we are battling thrush :/

My husband is finally starting to get better, he was sick before we had her nine days ago. He wasn't doing anything about it except only holding baby when he had to and trying not to breath on her. I finally made him start taking vitamins and such, ( I swear by zinc). Now he is starting to feel better. Not sure what more you can do about it.
