SS: Boy Name Clicky Poll

We are Team Green and are set on Eleanor (nickname Ella) if it's a girl. We are having a hard time deciding between boy names, which happened last time too! Our DD is named Olivia and we mostly call her Liv if we're speaking English, and Olivia if speaking Spanish.

Our boy options are Owen (too matchy with Olivia?) and Miles. No nickname for either since they're nice and short.

Our last name is actually becoming a popular girl's name and almost rhymes with Paisley. Thank you!

  • I'd go with Miles. I'm not a fan of siblings with the same first initial.

  • I like both. I'm not a huge fan of matchy names but I prefer Owen over Miles.

  • Miles was our choice for boy's name and Owen is my dog's name, so I love them both. You can't go wrong! :)
  • That was a tough one. Obviously. It is tied 16 votes to 16 votes.

I know.  I keep coming in to check on the results.

  • I like Owen.  I like your girls name too! It's one of the names we've been thinking of with Ella as a nickname.

  • I think two "O" names would get confusing.  You'd end up calling them "Ow-livia" and "Oliv-en".  At least that's what happens to even non-similar names in my family.  Maybe we are just easily confused.  I like MIles though :)

  • Ha! Thanks ladies - we are about 50/50 and so is everyone we ask. I like them both, but would like to decide before he/she is born. Especially since I'm pretty convinced it's a boy.

  • I like Owen a lot more than Miles. And I think it sounds so cute with Olivia!

  • I usually don't like sibsets starting with the same first initial, but I can't help but think that Owen and Olivia is so super adorable.  So Owen gets my vote!

  • I'm with the PP who don't like matchy names - my little sister and I are often called a contraction of both of our names because my parents get all mixed up. But then again, I've also been called by my older sister and brother's names, so maybe that's just a syndrome of too many kids, lol. ;)

And personally, I really like Miles. We've already decided on our LO's name, but that one was definitely on the table until the end.

  • I also don't like when sibling names have the same initial. Plus, I just like Miles better. Good luck!!

  • I like both. I picked Owen
  • I voted for Miles, but partly because Owen is more common here. I like both!

  • I love Owen... I feel like Miles is a little... old. And hey about the getting names mixed up, my parents did that with me and my 2 brothers, even though my name is an E, and my brothers are an A and a C! I think name mixing is a natural part of parenting :P I love the way Olivia and Owen sound together!
  • I love both but voted for Miles since it's a little less common. You can't go wrong with either one.

I voted Owen - since that's DS's name I'm obviously a fan. Olivia is one of our top contenders for this DD's name. I didn't name DD #1 it because I didn't want to be stuck with O names, but if that's not an issue for you, I think they're cute together!

  • Those names are both great. Maybe you could meet the baby first and decide when you see his face (if it is a boy that is). :)
  • I know someone who has an Olivia and Owen.  I think it's super cute.

Owen and Olivia sound adorable as a sibling pair, but I still prefer Miles.

Either would be a good choice though IMO.

  • I voted Owen, but I do really like them both!
  • I'm not one for matchy names so I went with Miles, but I don't hate Owen either. Arg, it's too hard to pick, lol!

Now that I have my text box back, I'm stuck in the quote box...Ugh, TB.  I hate you.

I agree with @Eltrain5 though.  My sister and I are both E names and they would constantly be blended together.  Also, I really love the name Miles.

My sister and I are both "c" names and they have pretty much become interchangeable by everyone who knows us, lol. But I feel like that wouldn't happen with a boy/girl set.
