Let's talk about our man. How did you two meet? Love at first sight?
I met my husband at work. I was working on the pediatric unit at local hospital and he works for a home health agency, he came in the unit to bring a baby some supplies to go home with. I was single after a horrid divorce and had just began dipping in the dating scene.
I saw him and thought hot damn, he's fuckin hot!
The girls around me knew him from various other cases and said ask him out. He's cute but shy. Next thing I know he walks by and I said...
Hey. Ummmm. Are you single.
Him: uhhhh yeah.
Me: cool. So am I. Wanna go grab a beer?
Him: uhhhh ok.
Hahahaha. We exchanged numbers. Met up two nights later. Played pool, drank beer, and played quarters, which ultimately decided who was kissing who first. I won. He kissed me. I took him home. Been together ever since.

We were engaged 6 months later, and married almost 10 years! He's my best friend and still super hot!
Re: GTKY: How did you and your SO meet?
My husband and I actually went to the same college graduating a year apart, but we didn't meet until I needed to have some stuff photographed my senior year. I had a photographer friend and my husb happened to be his lighting assistant/BFF. I thought he was cute and would see him at parties occasionally.
It wasn't until 2 years later, he walked past the store I was working at and something possessed me to run out and stop him.
We've been in-seperable for almost 4 years and married since June
Anyway, we had a very frank conversation in which we decided we were stop torturing each other one way or another. Either go our separate ways and not have contact anymore, or we'd finally make the big commitment. Long story we got, engaged right then, and were married three months later. It's been almost five years now :x

DH is really shy. It took him a year to give me his number. We went on our first date in 2007. He was a nice, quiet country boy who drove a big toyota truck on giant tires. He liked to work on cars, hunt, build things, and hang out with his family. I was a weirdo city girl who hung out at galleries and bars. I did performance art and played experimental music. I hated his friends and they hated me. We were so opposite.
I've met a lot of men in my life, but I knew DH was special.
I met DH at a bar after a Pens (PGH hockey team) game. I was on their cheer squad and went out with some of the other girls after the game and they convinced me to dress slutty (very low cut top lol). DH had been there watching the game with his friends and stayed to hang with me. Unfort at the time I thought he was dorky (he had on a mock turtleneck in a bar!) and he thought I was slutty (DEF not). I tried passing him off on my friends that night.
He later found me on myspace. Long story short, about a year later we finally started dating. Sometimes I kick myself for not dating him sooner because he's amazing, but everything works out for a reason.
We dated 2 years, engaged one, and have been married now 3.5 years.
Fast forward to 9 years later and we ran into eachother at the gym and started hanging out. Romance blossomed.

I moved back to TX about 3.5 years ago. The night before thanksgiving that year I was out at a bar with my best friend. I ran into him and we hung out all night just having a great time and danced to every song. I threw caution to the wind and decided to "slut it up" and go home with him. Best decision ever! lol well except for the part that my car was broken into because I left it at the bar and I was several hours late to Thanksgiving. We have been together ever since. We were engaged and living together by the next year and now married

I met my hubby on Christian Mingle. We emailed for a couple months before meeting in person... And it was pretty fast after that. Engaged 9 months later, married 7 months after that.
Online dating was honestly the most awkward thing ever for both of us, but I'm obviously glad we both have it a shot!
years later, here I am with baby bump!
We dated for 7 years and have now been married for 4.5 yrs.
I met my husband @ church when we were 7. We became really close friends when we were highschool freshmen and chatted on AOL instant messenger ALL the time! Around Senior year we decided we liked eachother, dated through college, got married at 21, and have been married 8 years. He really is my best friend, we've been through everything together and no one can make me laugh harder than he can. I just love hanging out with him. So glad I get to share my life with such a beautiful person.
I got pregnant 4 months in to the relationship (by accident) and 6 years later we are married with another one on the way. He's my best friend, I never had the connection with my ex husband like I do my current husband. He is the best person I know. And he's super tall (6'6 and so attractive) but that's just a bonus! Us about a year ago
In Vegas, actually the night we conceived our little N14 love bug. We stayed at the Palms and this was at the Ghost Bar. Amazing views!!

I was curious to see what sorts of people different wordings of personal ads would attract. So I posted a few over the course of a few weeks, and started chatting with s few people that actually were interesting.
My DH just wanted to talk and that was cool because well, I wasn't really looking to date seriously. Well, on Valentine's Day I got stood up by my friend and he came to rescue me. It was the first time we had met face to face and he was gorgeous. Halfway through the movie we were holding hands, and then he walked me to my car, gave me a hug - I pulled away and then realized I pulled away too quickly because I really liked him by this time, so I leaned my forehead against his, and he kissed me.
The rest is history.

DH and I have known of each other since middle school, but we really got to know each other our junior year of high school. We had huge crushes on each other. I ran into him by accident a couple times that summer and he asked me out as soon as he saw me the first day of senior year, which is funny because I felt shy and didn't plan on speaking to him at all. We went to homecoming together and just really hit it off. We chose to attend the same college and started living together a year in. During that time I got pregnant with DD, he proposed, and we got married last summer. We had planned to marry the summer after graduation, but then decided that we couldn't wait any longer. Now we're expecting our second child.
DH and I met while working at the summer camp. The first day at camp all the staff was mingling and I was really nervous to meet all these new people. Everyone was starting to play volleyball, which I hate, and I was struggling with deciding to play or look like a lame-o for not joining in, when he arrived fashionably late. He walked up to me and introduced himself (later admitting it was because I was hot, not just because he's friendly) and I breathed a sigh of relief that I wouldn't have to play volleyball! He was struck by my unusual name, and I loved how easy it was to talk to him. Half way through summer I knew I liked him, and thought he liked me, but he lived 14 hours away, so I was going to just let things go as they may. The last night of camp I woke up and realized that based on what time it was he had left to drive home already and burst into tears.
A week later I was making him a care package when he called me. We talked awkwardly for a hour (which was odd because we were never awkward) when he finally told me he wanted to date me even though he'd sworn off long-distance dating. Nine months later we were engaged and 3 months after that we were married and I moved to his state! I've had a few guys tell me that my story makes them sick because it means their baby girls could meet a man and be gone a year later, but my family is really happy that he is a part of the family now. He's a perfect compliment, not just for me, but my family too.
I went over to a high school friend's house. My sister was visiting with her deadbeat boyfriend, and I needed out of my house. I walked to her mom's to go swimming. There in the pool is the sexiest man I know. But I am insta-pissed. He is (as far as I know) married to my friend's drama loving little sister. NOT ANYMORE! They are getting divorced, and he stopped by to hang out with the bother. He asked me to go to the bar to celebrate his new job. Hell yeah! He got my
number after that night from my friend, apologized for his drunken ways, and invited me over. It was supposed to be a non-date. Ha! We have been together ever since.
Don't worry @lisaren you are not the only one that put out the first night.
