What do you play with Play-Doh on?

DS just got some play-doh for his birthday and he loves it.  We didn't own any before.  But where do you play with it?  We've been pushing this truck that dumps out shapes along the kitchen floor, but to just mold it?  We don't have a kitchen table, just a dining room one which is a darker wood.  Would it damage that?  Could we use it on the table pad without damaging it?  Or is there some kind of awesome play-doh mat that exists?

I'd probably just get one of those cheapo plastic tablecloths from the dollar store....

Ok, thanks guys.  Maybe we'll just use the pad.  I had a plastic placemat down today but it no where near contained the play-zone lol.

We do it at the kitchen table because we have carpet everywhere else.

DS plays with it on the kitchen table which is a medium-colored wood and we haven't had any problems.

We use a sheet of wax paper. Like the kind on the roll like foil. I always have wax paper but rarely use it.

Sometimes on the kitchen table which is cheap ikea. But other times ill put a cheap vinyl tablecloth on the floor and then I can shake it out after.

On a cookie sheet here.  Then I toss it in the dishwasher when he's done.

We use our kitchen counter or our dining or table. It's never been an issue.
