Moby fail

I finally got LO in the moby and I am super disappointed. First of all, there's next to no head support. I didn't expect it to be completely hands free but this seems a bit much. I managed to get some fabric to hold his head against my chest but I need to keep tugging it up every few minutes. Also he just kept sinking into the moby as time went on.

I honestly thought the moby was no different than just holding him in my arm.

Anyone else have these issues and have an idea on how to make it better?

You have pre-tie it much tighter than you might think to begin with.

  • I also have the Boba, I turn his head to the side and then tuck it under one of the panels for support. I still have to place my hand there if I bend down or move quickly though. Just keep trying. It takes some practice but is worth it once you get the hang of it.

  • I have a Boba and a Moby and so far DD has been okay in both. I also watched YouTube videos and found them helpful. I would just keep practicing. I have it so tight that it seems like DD won't even fit in it, but she does and it keeps her nice and snuggled in. Good luck! Don't give up!

  • I can never figure out how to wrap it properly, I really like my ergo with the newborn insert
  • Definitely tie it tighter cus even tho it may be hard to get the baby in, the baby will stretch the fabric and it'll be better..I kinda figured that out thru trial and error..it definitely isn't completely hands free I usually have a hand on her head just incase because she moves her head like crazy but I appreciate the break it gives me..I'm very small and my growing baby gets heavy after carrying her around for a while. Also I wouldnt think any wrap or sling is completely hands free until they have head control..because ur not supposed to cover their heads with the fabric but when the heads are out they flop around
  • I had the same problem! I couldn't even get the fabric to reach her head to support it though. And I even rewrapped it and tried it again. I need to try wrapping it another way because the newborn hold wrap just isn't going to work. I'm glad my friend is letting me use hers though because if I had paid $45 for it and couldn't get it to work, I'd be really pissed.

  • Try tying tighter and putting baby higher. This is how we use it. Her head actually goes into the one side same as her bum and her feet into the other side.
  • My problem too- I gave up and got an ergo. Love it! Put Sloan in it and clean the entire house :)
  • I'll give if more time. Maybe tighter is key. I made it so tight I couldn't get him in... But if I could I guess he'd be snug. We'll see!
  • I have the same problem. I couldn't get her head supported so I kept doing it tighter and tighter and when I finally got close, she threw up down my boobs... of course right. Lol.

That's exactly how I do it too. His head is right under my chin.

I have the Moby wrap and the Boba carrier.  I've been using the Boba much more... it's so much faster to take on and off and LO seems to prefer it.  It's too much of a process with the Moby right now.  Plus, my LO is a big boy and he sees to be better supported in the carrier vs the wrap.
  • Just tie it tighter - mine is almost completely hands free and she is super secure in it! :-)

  • I love mine, but it did take some practice before I was consistently getting it tied tightly enough. I also suggest YouTube videos, they helped a LOT. Good luck!
