Trouble TTC

Mild OHSS??

I'm on day 11 of stimming. I have 5 mature follicles (18-16) but about 18-19 total and my E2 is 1500. I'm definitely feeling it. I had been running 2 miles every morning but I started getting sore on Friday so I quit. I've been having bad nausea and headaches for the past couple of days and OMG the bloating and cramping. They told me this morning to go home and drink Gatorade and v8 and it should help me start feeling better.

This is the best response I've had so far, I've only had 1-2 mature and maybe 6-7 total, highest E2 was about 600 so all this feeling is new to me. I don't know if this is a mild case of OHSS or just normal.

Regardless of what it is, anyone have any tricks that may have given you some relief or does it just take time? My dr is having me coast for another night with just Ganirelix and prob trigger tomorrow. I'm finally starting to see an end in sight.

Fucking bump!!!!

Re: Mild OHSS??

  • Yeah, I drank a ton of gatorade and had to wait it out.  I hope you recover soon!

I was told Gatorade and salty snacks. It kind of helped, but not enough. Honestly, once I started hurting I kept hurting for a week (like, laid up on the couch not wanting to move). After that there was still a little discomfort but nothing like that week.

Edit: My E2 was also something like 5600 if that helps give you an idea of where I was at.

  • My RE warned me about OHSS, but he said that it doesn't come to fruition unless you do the trigger shot. Have you triggered? Cause these might just be really crappy symptoms of the meds and potential for OHSS if you trigger. And OHSS is NO fun.

I will more than likely trigger tomorrow. I hope it's just crappy symptoms from the meds.

I was suppose to do an injection of Ganirelix last night and I completely forgot, that's why my estrogen was up more today. Yesterday my E2 was 1172 and today 1500. I was so afraid I screwed everything up but they said I'm fine. Tonight I'm not doing Gonal just Ganirelix and going for monitoring in the morning. Today I'm drinking Gatorade and catching up on all my recording on the DVR. Why not make the best of a crapy situation.

    Fucking bump!!!!
  • Do the Gatorade. Eat salty stuff. Rest with your feet up. Take Tylenol on schedule. Rest. A lot. Mine didn't really show up until several days after the trigger, but it came with a fury. And it lasted about a week. It's awful, I'm not going to lie, but you'll make it. Lots of sweat pants. Don't attempt to wear regular pants (you'll thank me later). Feel better!!!

  • I don't fit in pants currently. Invest in many skirts.

    You're welcome

If I wore skirts I'd have to sit like a lady, yoga pants are the bomb, I can sit how ever I want.
    Fucking bump!!!!
  • Most high responders will admit to having these same symptoms. I think it's normal to feel how you do considering 18+ follies, but OHSS is always a fear. I hope you feel better soon.

  • I had OHSS after my second IVF and my E2 level was nearing 6,000. Honestly, gatorade, V8 and all the salty stuff in the world couldn't help after I had symptoms. My RE recommended Miralax and that worked wonders!

Also, I don't think you are supposed to do high impact cardio if you are at risk, bc your ovaries can twist and that is not good, especially when you are at risk for OHSS. Take care of yourself and feel better!
