Trouble TTC

Forcing your period?

Do any of those ridiculous things I've read on the internet work? Like vitamin C and hot baths.

I'm starting clomid for my first IUI when I start but I have PCOS and my periods are pretty irregular. Sometimes my cycles are almost 60 days.

Is there something the doctor can give me? Am I stuck waiting another month possibly?

I wish I knew the answer, cause I would force the hell out of AF right now. But I don't think taking vitamin c works, because I take a butt load of that every day.

  • The doctor can prescribe you provera to kickstart a new cycle, it's a progesterone pill that you take for several days, and then when you finish you will start a withdraw bleed soon after.

This whole day on 3T has been like the twilight zone for me! The post about IUI and a trip at the end of the month is exactly my situation and what led to me chugging two packs of emergenC to try to get AF going.

You are all reading my mind ;)

FWIW, still no sign of her. I also spent a good chunk of time jumping around (I thought exercise may help)
  • I thought maybe they could. Not sure if I need to wait more though. My period is due now and my breast are always tender before for 4-5 days. I don't have that either. Like a freak, I keep grabbing my boobs to see if they hurt yet. I don't want to be annoying but I'm ready to get this show on the road!

  • I suppose it wouldnt hurt to take some vitamin C...with some ginger and parsley tea...while sitting in a hot bath...after a jog...then go get busy with the husband!

  • @calindi you are so right. That does usually kick it in gear... I think the PIO shots I was on are making me delayed now

  • I tried the eating ginger and the parsley tea..... Yeah, it didn't help. And parsley tea tastes so, so nasty.

  • DH (who is Chinese) believes eating ice cream or drinking iced beverages can bring it on.

If it's kind of sort of about to start and I check my cervix for spotting with a Qtip, it seems to start faster. Not sure if it really has an effect, or if it would do anything if you're not spotting already.

Oh, the ironies of TTTC!! Our hot and cold relationship with Aunt Flo...please stay away, please come now, I hate you, I'm so relieved you're here...sometimes I feel just a teensy bit of compassion for her. :)

  • I tried everything to force my period "naturally" last cycle.

    Nothing worked.

Parsley tea actually isn't terrible with honey in it, surprisingly. But it definitely didn't work.
