thinking about a 2nd baby and what we would name him/her. dd is miriam. i chose it because i like the biblical connection but most people seem to just comment on how it is a great "old lady" name. i'm not sure if i want to go with another biblical name or more of an old timey name for the next baby.
boy and girl ideas are welcome!

We're sticking with Biblical/Hebrew names, just like my parents did with my siblings [Philip, Leah & Levi].
Our children are Isaac Levi, Ezra John and Miriam Joy.
We won't find out for another month yet what we're having, but I love so many more boy names than girl.
Boys: Amos, Joel, Titus, Ezekiel, Boaz, Gabriel, Abel, Gideon, Silas, Jude and Micah
Girls: Naomi, Elise (from Elizabeth), Amira, Aida, Esther and Zion
Elise and Naomi were our distant runners up. I hate the name Ruth and wish I had $5 for every time someone suggests it like it's a rare name that I would surely love!

My great-grandmother's name was Viola, and her sisters were Ruby, Ruth, Thelma, and Martha.
Frankly, with the exception of Mathilde, they all scream old-lady to me, but that's my association with them.
There are many names in the Bible that can & do have a negative association with them. Because people aren't perfect. The negative association with Eve is from Genesis 3:6. She ate the apple that God commanded her & Adam not to eat. She gave some to Adam...who was standing right beside her & he ate it too. So, if Eve has a bad association then so does Adam.
Noah - built the ark & got naked & drunk after.
Jonah - disobeyed God & was swallowed by a great fish for 3 days.
David - committed adultery with another man's wife then had him killed in battle.
I'm not pointing this out to harp on anyone's name choices at all. I love all the names I just listed. To blindly say that one Biblical name has a bad association so don't use it is pretty closed minded.
