Cloth Diapering

Yeast :/

DD has a yeast diaper rash.  We've got her in disposables right now while the rash creams do their job.  How should I clean my cloth diapers to make sure that she doesn't get the rash back the minute we put her back in cloth?  Should I worry about the fact that most of my diapers say "do not bleach"?  Thanks!

Re: Yeast :/

  • When we had yeast, I added 1/4 of bleach to my wash cycle and then rinsed several (like 4-5) times. This probably voided the warranty on most of my diapers, but it was a risk I was willing to take. You can also try Tea Tree Oil and GSE, but I can't remember how much of each. It's probably something you could google. Be sure to also treat your wipes (if you use cloth), wash cloths, and changing pad cover...anything cloth that could have come in contact with the rash.

  • I would definitely take the risk on using bleach.  Yeast is quite the beast, and you just don't want to mess around with it.
