twins question...

I found out at our first ultrasound that I am having twins! Heart rates are good, 110 and 103. 

The one thing is that baby B is smaller than A, about a week behind. Did this happen to anyone else here? I've heard it can be normal. My RE wants me to come back in 2 weeks to have another ultrasound. 

I don't want to freak out about this, I'm trying to stay VERY positive!

My twins always measure a few days apart.

Mine are measuring 2 days apart with almost the same heart rates of yours: 110 for the "bigger" one and 98 for the smaller one. I was also told 2 weeks but my nurse said Today I can go again in a week to make me feel better. They are so small right now that it can be tough to measure. The RE told me not to move or laugh when she was trying to measure since you can be off a smidgen and it would make it a big deal (I was skating and couldn't help it). It's impossible not to worry but I think we need to stay positive until we're told not to be.

I think that's fairly normal. Mine measured a 4w3d and 5w at our first US (at 5w3d). They'd caught up and measured exactly the same the next week, but I won't be surprised if they're measuring apart again soon.

Same thing happened to one of my great friends. Her girls are now 7 months.

At my 6 week ultrasound, my twins measured a day apart. At my 8 week u/s they measured 3 days apart. I'm pretty sure that it's normal... at least that's what i've been told!

Mine are always a day or two apart.

Mine measured different right from the beginning - first at just a few days apart, and now they measure about 10 days apart.  The doctors have all told me that's pretty normal with twins.  It only becomes a concern if they are sharing a placenta and one starts to hog all the food.

No twins here, BUT my doctor did tell me that when they are that small, even the best machines are going to measure +/- up to 3 days off. When you think about it that way, there's a definite chance that they're closer together than a week apart in measurement.
