sleep n nap places

Where does your baby sleep and nap and how old is he/she? My three week old sleeps on our room in a bassinet and naps in his crib in his room but he seems to be doing better in the crib.... Although we are trying to establish a nighttime routine im wondering if he should just sleep at night in his crib...

Re: sleep n nap places

  • 5 weeks old. Started out sleeping in a bassinet in our room, at night and napping wherever (Boppy lounger, swing, crib or in our arms) now she sleeps in the RnP in our room, and in the morning she pretty much sleeps with me. She still naps wherever.

  • He slept in a bassinet in our room until he was 5 weeks. We moved him to a crib in his own room and we all started sleeping better. He naps in his crib or in my bed with me. He naps in a crib at daycare.
  • Two weeks tomorrow.

During the day he sleeps in his RNP in the living room (that's where we usually hang out).  If we are on an outing, he'll sleep in the Ergo or in his car seat.

At night he sleeps in the Newborn Napper attachment to his PNP, which is in his nursery.   We started him out in the flat part of the PNP (the raised "bassinet") but he's been having a lot of upper respiratory congestion and the pediatrician recommended he sleep on a slight incline, which the napper attachment has.

  • My baby falls asleep in his car seat every time we go somewhere so he naps there a lot. He also primarily naps in his swing in the living room. What works best for us now that we are both back at work is taking turns sleeping in the living room with baby in the PnP at night. (Every other night) That way at least one of us gets decent sleep and can be more awake in the morning to get breakfast etc. for our 5yr old.

  • From 0-6 weeks old, he slept at night in the RnP in our room and napped wherever, usually in the swing, car seat, Ergo, or boppy lounger. From 6 weeks until 4 months he slept at night in the RnP in his room and napped wherever. At around 4 months he started sleeping at night in his crib and taking naps in a playpen as well as in the car seat. I think daycare still uses a swing from time to time as well but he's too big for the swing really.

Switch your LO to their own room/crib whenever you're ready. A video monitor makes the transition easier on you.

  • My DD is 8 weeks today. During the day she naps in her bouncer, at night she sleeps in her bassinet next to our bed, we are soon going to switch to her sleeping in a crib. During the day I've tried to put her in the bassi for her naps but she always wakes up, not so at night. So for some reason that's the sleep set up she likes between day and night.
  • My two week old sleeps best in the Mamaroo and naps well in the Boppy lounger, but we're trying to get him to sleep longer/more contentedly in the co-sleeper attached to our bed.
  • He will be 6 weeks tomorrow. Right now he is still sleeping in his bassinet in the living room at night. This is until he goes longer stretches between feedings. DH works 7 days a week, plus he snores really loud, so this is so both can sleep better. Once the LO can sleep better, then he will sleep in the bedroom with his dad and me in his bassinet.
