Hi gals! Thank you for thinking of me and sorry, I have totally been MIA. I haven't made a birthstory yet but here is a short version:
Went in for a growth scan Friday 4/4, baby A had dilated kidneys and a lot of amniotic fluid so he called my OB to push up my induction date. On Wednesday 4/9 DH and I got to the hospital and started the process. Pictocin, water bag was popped, an epidural, and almost 12 hours of labor I was 10cm dilated, pushed into the OR and started pushing.
After 45 min of pushing and A not progressing we discovered that he had turned transverse and was stuck. Baby B had also turned breech. I had three choices because my OB didn't feel comfortable pulling out both babies: labor another hour then try again, keep pushing, or c section. I chose the c-section. A couple minutes later I was being cut open and the boys were born! Carter had to go the NICU for less than 24 hours for blood sugar monitoring.
Patrick Ryan was born at 9:30pm, 7.13lbs, 19 inches long
Carter George was born at 9:33pm, 5.13lbs, 17 inches long
They are so beautiful! How is your recovery going?
Recovery has been fairly smooth, thanks for asking. I got up and did as much as I could without over doing it and was able to be released a day early. The incision site gets painful for a second sometimes when I get out of bed or stand up. Worst is the belly skin, it is a little flappy which doesn't help my uterus feel very good. Hopefully that is normal?
