March 2014 Moms

Intro and Question

Hi all. My name is Sharon and I had my son Carter on March 6. I also have a 2-year-old daughter, Savannah.

I am wondering if any of you had a problem putting your LO down? My son cries every time I put him down. I can't even eat or go to the bathroom without him screaming to be held. On top of that, and probably not surprisingly, he isn't sleeping well at all. I'm kind of reaching my limit on what to do. Anyone been through something like this?

Look forward to getting to know all of you!

Re: Intro and Question

  • Is this new? He could be going through the 6 wk growth spurt, and I've heard they want to be held constantly and eat like crazy...GL!

  • No, he's been this way ever since he was born. I want to meet his needs, but this just seems crazy!
  • Have you tried wearing him in a sling or wrap? At least then you'd have your hands free.

  • I just tried wearing him today for the first time and he slept the whole time! That definitely seems like a good option for the day time. Nights... We'll get there, I suppose.

Yes, we are EBF. He's growing like crazy - 3 pounds in 3 weeks and eating about every 2-3 hours. He doesn't spit up too much. Some times he has to work hard to regulate his little tummy, but overall, his digestion seems good. I can't get him to sleep in a crib - he's in a rnp at night, but he only lasts 30 min. to 1.5 hours if I'm lucky. I just feel like I'm not doing something right.
