Not new, but probably forgotten

I've been ttc for 3 and a half years now, since October 2010, and I was once pretty active on this board.  I have a daughter who's almost 5 and we've been trying to figure out why I'm not getting pregnant.  I had the Mirena for just over a year, and while I had it I started getting cysts that would rupture and cause unbelievable pain.  My doctor now (who is the first to actually find ANY problems with me) thinks it was that I have endometriosis and PCOS, along with some slightly out of range hormone levels.  So, about a month ago now, I had surgery to excise the endometriosis.  Since I ovulate every 28-30 days they aren't real concerned with my PCOS (yet) and they want to wait and see if I get pregnant before messing with my hormones.   

I've been super super hopeful since day 1, and every period I get pretty disheartened for about a day, and then I'm right back in the "this month, it's time" mindset.  Since surgery, I don't feel like it's going to happen, and have kind of given up.  I look forward to supporting all the ladies on the board struggling, and thank you for doing the same for me.  Please don't judge me (as has been done in the past) for not really having any problems, because I'm not getting pregnant either, they just don't know why.  And in my opinion, that could be even worse than knowing, but it's hard to say because I'm not in your shoes.

So- many ladies here have unexplained infertility- and anyone who would discount that is out of their mind. I am truly glad you've found a doctor that really started to help and while I'm not on the same boat literally, figuratively- here we all are!!! Welcome back, but sorry you are back! I really hope it is a short stay!!!
Did they say how long they were going to give you on your own post surgery? Anything they can do to help the in your own?

I think unexplained IF has got to be so much harder to combat. I'm sorry it's been hard and it's good to hear you're working w/ a Dr who is making progress. I'm sorry you're starting to feel hopeless. I would think it would be the other way around. That having the surgery would revive hope. Either way, I really wish you luck and I'm sorry you've had to go so long with no answers. Here's to the future!

We're largely unexplained, too, except that DH doesn't have great morphology but the doctor wasn't super concerned about that when we were doing all of diagnostic stuff. I'm in a similar situation. DS will be 5 in August and we've been trying since August 2010 for another with no luck at all. Fortunately, no miscarriages or chemicals or anything- I just have not been able to get pregnant at all.

Has your DH been tested?
