beta number 2-not quite doubled- update

Sorry for the wall of text! My first beta was 83.9, second 48 hrs later was 145.2. **I went in for a third beta this morning and it rose from 145 on Friday to 497 today- so that's a doubling time of about 40 hours.

. When my nurse called, of course I answered the phone with a nervous voice, but she said I would be happy with the results. I'm definitely glad they went up and that the doubling time decreased. Fx this is my sticky rainbow baby

. Thanks for the support- it's a long road ahead but it makes such a difference when they are people who understand all of the ups and downs.

I have been there twice and know your fear. My best advice is to insist on a 3rd beta next week. It's just cruel and unusual treatment to make you wait for the u/s without that assurance of a third beta. Hang in there((())) it's hard to wait.

I have no advice.....but I want you to know that you are in my thoughts big time! I second what the pp said about insisting on a third beta. At least you would know before the u/s that your numbers are climbing and not decreasing.

This happened to us for our betas, and we were having twins! Don't worry too much, we made ourselves sick with worry, but it was all fine in the end.

Don't panic too much, betas are hard and we were in beta hell pretty much until our first ultrasound when we saw two little heartbeats.

Fingers crossed its all okay and it was just a wonky number.

Thanks everyone. I'm a bit more calm now. I'm going to ask for another beta next week and hopefully it will be a good one and I'll feel a little better. I had no -idea- I would be this neurotic!

Ask for that beta, think of all the $$$ you spent for the opportunity to make this lil baby/babies, I'd just ask for a beta, and if their office doesn't want to do it, ask for the order and get it done somewhere else. It's a harmless request. . For peace of mind, those are good numbers, don't fret

This happened to me...they did a 3rd beta though. Have faith....I'm thinking of you!

Had almost the same exact numbers! Went from 80 to 145 (14 dpo to 16dpo) - that's an 83% increase & a doubling time of 2.3 days. My RE was happy. But they always do a third beta -- mine came back at 297 after 2 days. I requested a 4th--beta was 845 after 3 days. This was last Thursday, & I was 21dpo. First scan is Tuesday.
I would get another beta done, just to ease your mind.

I would request a 3rd beta also. My second beta had a 68 hr doubling time and my third was 42. So getting that 3rd one done was very helpful for me because I was very concerned. Not sure if it is common to change that drastically or maybe I started with two and one didn't make it. Not sure...

Just wanted to chime in that my second beta didnt double and was barely at the 60% mark, but I am still pregnant! I did have a third beta and that one was fine. Request a third to put your mind at ease! Good luck!
