Welcome to the PAL check-in! Please feel free to ask questions (whether or not you are PAL) and get to know one another and the journey each person is on.
How old is/are your children? Coming up on two months...WHAT?
Do you have any upcoming milestones? Mother's Day is the next big milestone for us.
How has this week been for you? One of the trees that was donated to a local park in memory of Elsie is starting to bud. Its a bittersweet reminder and I cried when I saw it.
QOTW: What is your favorite thing to do with your child/children? He is young, so we are still learning each other. But I love wearing him, holding him close and being able to kiss the top of his little head. But I also just love interacting with him. He is quite the "talker".
Open Topic. What is on your mind this week?
He has the cutest pouty face ever. :-)
"Elsie Irene was born sleeping at 35w 6d on December 8, 2012. Mommy and Daddy miss you sweet girl."
How old is/are your children? DS just turned two last Friday! Do you have any upcoming milestones? Not really, since we just passed a big one. How has this week been for you?I'm still living day by day. Mon-Wed were very hard and I cried/was sad a lot. Thursday and today have been better, which is weird because I thought they would be the worst of the week. I had my follow up appointment with the Obgyn and we picked up the cremated remains of Juliana. I think maybe I was so upset about the hard events before they happened, that when they were done it was a relief and I had already gotten out my emotions. Regardless of the reason, I'm thankful to have at least a small amount of time where the cloud lifted. QOTW: What is your favorite thing to do with your child/children?I love to snuggle with him while watching TV or reading him a book. He's a mover, so I cherish the moments he lets me snuggle with him. Open Topic. What is on your mind this week? Just getting through the week.
How old is/are your children? Jacob is 5.5 and Eli is 6 weeks tomorrow.
Do you have any upcoming milestones? This coming week is Passover and we lost Alice the second day of Passover. Her angelversary was March 27th, but on the Jewish calendar we are just coming up on the one year date (the 16th day of Nissan). I didn't think this date would be as hard as it is since we already passed March 27th.
How has this week been for you? I am coming down with a cold and sleep deprived and heading into Passover. I've had better weeks.
QOTW: What is your favorite thing to do with your child/children? I love to snuggle Eli and smell his baby smell and then Jacob loves to sing and dance so turning on the radio and dancing around is fun.
Open Topic. What is on your mind this week? Just thinking about Passover
Married 11/23/11, TTC starting 10/12, BFP#1 11/30/12, Adoption of stepson finalized 03/19/13,Loss of our daughter at 20w4d due to incompetent cervix 03/27/13, BFP#2 06/28/13, DS2 born 3/1/14.
Do you have any upcoming milestones? We just got past 2 months on Sunday
How has this week been for you? It's been hard. DD is dropping naps completely which gives me no downtime during the day. We have had fun, but the days are really long. I have also had a hard time exercising besides taking a walk with her to the park or something.
QOTW: What is your favorite thing to do with your child/children? Read books, play outside.
Open Topic. What is on your mind this week? I need to figure out stuff for us to do in the afternoons since we now have that time available to do stuff.
PS. Bonus points for pictures. :-) Easter dress made by Grandma. Selfie on the iPad.
How old is/are your children?JJ is 5. Mia just turned 3 months old on the 9th. Do you have any upcoming milestones?Just Mother's Day. I think that will be hard for me again this year. How has this week been for you? It's been OK. I've been struggling mentally again with Devon's loss, but it's getting better.
QOTW: What is your favorite thing to do with your child/children?JJ loves airplanes, so I love taking him to the airport in town and watching the planes take on/off [we live in a small college town that has a airplane pilot degree and minor, so our airport has lots of small planes flying all the time]. We haven't done that much since Mia was born, but I hope we can start that tradition up again soon. At this point in Mia's young life, I just love snuggling with her. Open Topic. What is on your mind this week?I've hinted at things being bad between H and I...and they still are. They're getting better, and we are working through our issues, but they stem from our loss. I thought we had made it through our loss relatively unscathed, but apparently, H saw it a different way. We've had our share of issues since losing Devon - what couple doesn't struggle through something so tragic as losing your child? - but they came to a head a couple of weeks ago and quickly went downhill. My world's been consumed with fighting for my marriage, raising my children, working and still mourning Devon...and I feel like I'm losing my mind. I just hope that things start to slow down so I can get my head back on straight.
But with an adorable rainbow like Mia, I know I'll be OK.
@osuwifey09 Are you able to do couples counseling? I know grief counseling was helpful for you, perhaps it would be good to go? T&Ps. I am so sorry you have to deal with everything at once.
"Elsie Irene was born sleeping at 35w 6d on December 8, 2012. Mommy and Daddy miss you sweet girl."
Aubrey is nine months! Longer out than in... a little heart breaking. How time flies!
No upcoming milestones.
This week wasn't terrible. I'm having a hard time at school because a colleague is pregnant and was due two weeks before my edd for Riley, so she looks just like I should right now. I passed some diapers on to her that Aubrey had outgrown. I was holding onto them for Riley, but since we don't need them anymore they were just taking up space in her closet. It was a little sad.
My favorite thing to do with Aubrey is blew bubbles. She is amazed by them and lets out audible oohs and ahs when she sees them. It's so cute!
We picked up Riley's ashes from the funeral home this week. There was more than I expected. We're tossing around ideas of what to do with them. We had planned to spread them at his brothers grave, but then I found this company that makes glass beads with them. I would kind of like to do that and they only need a small amount, but part of me feels it's wrong tosplit them up. Has anyone done this? What are your thoughts?
Bonus picture of dd eating cheerios. Love this one!
How old is/are your children? Emily is just over 3 weeks
Do you have any upcoming milestones? Mother's Day. We celebrated Kayla's first angelversary when Emily was 5 days old.
How has this week been for you? Pretty good, we've gotten out for walks and she's been sleeping pretty well.
QOTW: What is your favorite thing to do with your child/children? I love to snuggle on the couch.
Open Topic. What is on your mind this week? I know it's not permanent, but I've been so busy with Emily these first few weeks that I haven't had much time to think about or mourn Kayla very much. This makes me feel like a terrible mom, like she's been replaced. But I know once the hectic life of having a newborn calms down it will be different.
PS. Bonus points for pictures.

H is deployed right now, and he's on the total opposite schedule of me, so we're barely talking. I want us to do counseling, but it will probably have to wait until he gets home in August/September...and I'm not sure if our marriage can survive that long without counseling, honestly. He did say he's seeing his own counselor out there, and I've started counseling again as well to help me sort out my feelings about things. My hope is that we can arrange for some sort of Skype counseling while he's gone, but we'll see.
Thanks for the Ts and Ps, ladies. They mean a lot to me.
L is almost 17 months old now. No upcoming milestones, aside from her 18 month b-day. This week is nice because I'm on Spring Break so I get to be home. My favorite thing to do with L is to read. She loves to point at the pictures and asks me to name things for her. She also has some Baby Signs books and she copies the signs...it's fun because she's learning how to talk and say some words.
