Funny eating issue

DD is a good eater. What is cracking me up is that things she asks for at home she absolutely rejects with her grandparents, who are our daycare, and vice versa. Like at home she loves raspberries. Refuses to even look at them with Grandma. At Grandma's, she loves plain oatmeal. At home, she shakes her head and says, very sweetly and politely, "No, tanks!" Anyone else's kid have tastes that change depending on who the kid is with? I will say that she eats equally healthfully both places, so it isn't like she's holding out for junk food. Funniest one recently is that she devours carrots at Grandma's but demands peas at home. Refuses peas at Grandma's but will hang on the fridge and beg for carrots. What a little weirdo.

  • That's cute.  I think a lot of kids do this.  DS eats better at school than at home.  DD is a good eater, but her moods shift on a dime.  She'll devour strawberries one day, then reject them for a week.  She used to be obsessed with broccoli, now it's hit or miss.

  • Same here! Our DD goes to my in-laws in the am and then in the afternoon (when they go into work) she goes to my parents and never wants to eat the same thing in all 3 houses!

  • As soon as my mother gets here my son asks her to get him cookies. He could care less about them, even refuses them, while she's gone. She bought them for him (they are organic animal crackers from costco) and I think he just always like to associate his nana with those cookies haha it's "their thing"
