Re: ** 1st Tri Check In 4/11/14 **

  • Wow, I think that there are more people below me on the list than above me now!  My update is that I had a 10 week check-up this week and baby still looked good on US, so I've passed my loss milestone (last time baby died around 9 weeks).  I'll keep having scans every other week until I get to 14 weeks, then down to 1/month for a while.  I'm getting more nervous as I approach 2nd tri, I think partially because I can't shake the worry that something is going to go wrong and partially because if things do go well I'm nervous about going down to monthly appointments, plus I'm already getting anxious about when to tell people (see my other post).

Anyway, QOTW I would learn to speak a few different languages.  I took 4 years of Spanish in school but have lost most of it, wouldn't mind learning French also!

Hope that everyone has a great weekend!

  • Hi All -

Unfortunately, I had a rough appointment yesterday where one of the babies didn't have a heartbeat (both had them last week).  The other baby (baby B) was still looking good.  My RE said I had about a 50/50 chance on these two scenarios: the one without a HB being absorbed into my uterus (want) or I could miscarry it and also miscarry B (do not want).  I'm praying hard that baby B makes it - will have another U/S next Friday.  If you are the praying type, please pray for baby B!

QOTW: I would love to learn how to really cook.  I do cook, don't get me wrong, but I would love to be the next Top Chef (for those of you that watch that show :) ).

    FET#1 June: BFN

FET#2 August: delayed due to thin lining (6.3).  Took a few months off to try and thicken the lining with lots of estrodial.  FET#2.2 December: Cancelled due to thin lining (4.8). Two frosties left.

*New RE* Sonohystrogram and hystereoscopy done in Feb.

IVF #2: ER 3/4/14  ET 3/7/14, transferred 3, 3 day 9 cell perfect embryos.  No frosties.

    Beta #2 (21dp3dt) 11,561

First ultrasound on 4/3/14 showed 3 sacs: one empty and two with beating hearts!!  At 7w2d, found out that one baby did not have a heartbeat anymore.  Praying that baby B makes it.  Baby B is a girl!

  • 10 weeks today. Had a surprise ultrasound on Tuesday thanks to another trip to the emergency room. Stomach bug + morning sickness = severe dehydration & low potassium. I wasn't expecting an ultrasound, but I'm glad they did one...it definitely helped ease my worry. Next appointment with the RE is Wednesday. I think she's going to do the standard OB workup at this upcoming visit.

QOTW - I would love to learn how to play the piano. I have always wanted to learn, but the opportunity never presented itself. Might possibly be something I pick up in the future though.

  • Hi all - I'm 6 weeks now.  Just taking it really easy and trying to listen to my body.

I gained a bit of weight from both IVFS, so I feel super huge already.  Just looking forward to getting back to light workouts after 8 weeks.  Overall, I'm feeling pretty well though.

QOTD:  I'd LOVE to be able to speak fluent spanish.

    IVF #1 Oct 2013- cancelled
IVF #2 Mar 2014- success.... baby girl born 11/28/14
FET #1 Mar 2016- baby boy due 12/16/16

  • Hi. Could you add me? I'm not sure I'm going to be able to hang around, but I keep telling myself, "Today I am pregnant" and am trying to act like it! My EDD is December 19 and I don't know how many beans yet.

Update: Well, I got my BFP on Tuesday at 5dp5dt. Beta is on Monday.

QOTD: I'd like to be able to play guitar. I sing in a couple of choirs, but the guitar lessons I've taken just haven't stuck. I think it would be fun to be able to sing and accompany myself, all singer-songwriter like.

  • I'll be ten weeks tomorrow, @tippytoes06‌ my appt is Tuesday! We keep missing each other, still have lots of morning sickness. . But my insurance won't pay for my zofran so I'm nursing the small supply I do have. lol . . :-& :-& :-& :-& QOTW: if I could learn anything? That's a tough one--probably to ice a cake, I'm fantastic at cupcakes, but when it comes to a cake, there hasn't been a time where it hasn't crumbled away from me and just broke, falling to a disaster. . It's so sad bc Wendy Kromer was our wedding cake baker (she is Martha Stuarts cake baker, any Martha Stuart cake ever in a magazine or book, is her work) and she would be so embarrassed for me if she saw my skills. *sigh* that! or maybe scuba diving. . I love my honu's !

  • Had my last visit with the RE today, I'll miss the weekly appointments like @IntuitiveBlue said. Luckily, next week is my OB appointment. Today the beans are 2.5 cm each (1 inch - yeah!) and I saw 2 arms, 2 legs, and 1 head for each so amazed at their development especially for 9w2d!! Heartbeats were in the 160's for both. The doc gave us the thumbs up and so onto the next level.

@Praying4Miracle17 sorry for your lost & thoughts and prayers are with you and baby B!

AFM - I'm 9 weeks on Sunday.  Don't have another appointment until next Thursday 4/17.  We are going all in and announcing to the rest of DH's family on Easter... Good, bad, or ugly, we decided we'd rather have their prayers and support than to keep the secret to ourselves.

QOTD - I'd learn some musical instruments... I'm completely jealous of those with musical talents.

  • @Siona1976‌ I learned knitting from YouTube lol, I also got this crank loom, where you feed the yarn in, and bam instant scarves! Lol GOODLUCK :)

    Hi ladies.

    @Praying4Miracle17‌
I'm so sorry for your loss of baby A.... I am praying hard that baby B hangs in there tough! Hugs

    AFM:
I got an impromptu u/s on Wednesday due to spotting....and we saw 2 beautiful sacs; no heartbeats yet but I have another "official viability" scan on Wednesday so FX that we see 2 heartbeats. Also, my spotting seems to have stopped for now, so that makes me happy.

QOTD: I would learn to speak French fluently. French is my DH's first language and I want him to speak only French to our children for the first 9 months of their life so that they are bilingual..... But I just wish that I could speak more.

  • @pcrumley - have you asked about the non-dissolvable Zofran? Dr. M gave me a prescription for the nondissolvable and my insurance covered it...then the ER gave me a prescription for the dissolvable and my insurance wouldn't cover those. Dumb. Ask Dr. M for Phenergan or something similar....I can't imagine not having these pills lately!

  • Ahh @tippytoes06‌ I never thought about those, honestly I love the odt dissolve able ones! but I effing hate my insurance! they are deciding not to pay for my surgery or hospital stay! bc their "experts" say that the surgery wasn't necessary, eff them, I'm so fed up, I loved our old insurance, but now we have med mutual bc of hubby's new job and it sucks. . They fight me on everything. . Walgreens called dr m, and I guess they are going to fill out paperwork that says I need to be on this medication, then I guess forward that to medical mutual, bless walgreens heart, they try so hard to work something out, she even said I could buy one or two pills out of the prescription. . I'm worried about what other nausea meds will do bc I have responded really well with zofran, and I have to take synthroid which is a synthetic since my thyroid doesn't produce a lot, and there are a lot of meds I cannot take with it. . Or certain hours away, idk what meds are you on I can ask dr m on tues, I'll be like "my friend tippy toes, lol I mean Samantha said "...." Lol

  • @Praying4Miracle17‌ I am so sorry for baby a. I will definitely include you, DH , and Baby b in my prayers. Hang in there, I know this is so hard for you.

AFM: Had a wonderful appointment on Tuesday after our wonderful trip to NYC. My SCH is completely gone, and the baby must have loved NYC cause it's heartbeat rose to 164. :) I will have the Mat21 test in about a week and half, which I am nervous for, but I know most are for this kind of test. We are going to find out the gender, so I am excited about knowing so early. Other than. That I am just hanging in there, enjoying the ride.

qotw: I would like to learn Spanish, and how to play the piano. I probably have a much better chance of learning how to play the piano.. Ha.

@Praying4Miracle17 sorry to hear about baby A I will keep your baby B in my my prayers!! Hi everyone!! I'm 11 weeks 4 days this week on Wednesday I had my first obgyn prenatal exam, because of my tilted uterus the dr couldn't hear the heartbeat through my bone but then after having a transvaginal ultrasound we could see our little miracle wiggling around and the heart beating such a wonderful thing to see. I go back in a couple of weeks for another appointment, and still have to set up an advance maternal age appointment I'm only turning 35 in May not 60 wonder where that get that magical number that deems you too old. Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

    TTC since 2012

    Dx : DOR

IUI #1 (Follistim switched over to Menopur injections) - BFN

Attempted IUI #2 (Menopur injections only cycle) better response on the Menopur then the Follistim combination treatment cycle however my cycle was still canceled due to my eggs not maturing and follicles not growing enough on a high dose of Menopur (Re said I could try a cycle of comid + ovidrel  for an IUI) for my second IUI( praying this works for us)

Clomid + Ovidrel protocol worked still a BFN as a result

  • @Praying4Miracle17‌ - so sorry to read baby A. T & P for baby B.

Today is 10w5d. Had our 1st OB appt. with lots of discussion about NT scan and related blood work. OB didn't do an ultrasound but said we'd see much better at the NT scan anyway. Next appt isn't for another 4+ weeks.

I will finish progesterone next week. Sooo looking forward to that.

QOTW - I think I want to learn to play the piano.

  • @Praying4Miracle17‌ I'm so sorry for your loss! I really hope that things work out for baby B.
    ****loss discussed*****

We're queer. I'm 33, have severe stage 4 endo, and had both fallopian tubes removed. My love ("Manada" on the boards, 32) was diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve. We did Partner IVF (my eggs, her uterus). We lost our twins Tavin and Casey at 21 weeks gestation.

    Our IUIs
with @Manada: IUI# 1-7 (December 2012- September 2013) all BFN. Tried natural, femara, clomid, puregon/follistim, clomid and menopur combo, both the ovidrel and HCG triggers.

    Our IVFs:
IVF #1 my eggs November/December 2013: Cancelled IVF due to poor response

    IVF #2 my eggs/Manada's uterus January/February 2014
BCPs and lupron overlap Stimmed: 1/22-2/2: Bravelle and Menopur (dosage ranged from B300 and M150 to B375 and M150 to B300 and M225)
2/4 retrieved 10 eggs. Endo was much worse than expected. Only 3 eggs fertilized; February 7 transferred two day 3 embryos, froze one. All great condition.
    BFP eve of 6dp3dt; Beta 1 (11dp3dt): 110; Beta 2 (13dp3dt): 175; Beta 3 (15dp3dt): 348; Beta 4 (19dp3dt): 2222; Beta 5 (21dp3dt): 4255
    1st ultrasound (3/6  6w 1d): TWINS!!!! Twin A measuring 6w1d with a heartbeat of 118bpm. Twin B measuring 6w0d with a heartbeat of 113bpm.

***July 18, 2014 we lost our beautiful babies at 21 weeks gestation. They were born too early. Tavin Sara T. and Casey Elizabeth T. are beautiful and precious and we will love them and miss them forever.***

  • We are 11w2d today. We had our 11 week ultrasound on Monday at 10w5d. Both twins were doing great and starting to look much more baby like. Heartbeats were both good and it was really nice to see them again.

On Tuesday we had our first midwife appointment. That went well and we talked about birth options with twins.

We have our NT scan at the REs office on Thursday April 17 and we graduate at that point. @Manada gets to stop estrace and progesterone on Wednesday.

QOTW: I was originally going to say to play an instrument really well. But then I saw people talking about learning language and I think that is a really good idea. I think I would choose French since I'm living in Canada.

  • Hi, please add me. Our EDD is 11/26/14 and we just saw the one bean's heart beat on Wednesday. Now, I can finally accept that I am 7 weeks and 2 days pregnant. YAY!

I am moving on to an OB early d/t insurance reasons so I just got my hormonal weaning schedule from the RE. Looks like I'll decrease down to 2 x / day on week 9 and further decrease to 1 x / day for week 10 and stop aspirin. By week 11 I'll be done with this chalky mess. YAY!

Also, I'm going to see if I can talk the OB into checking my estrogen/progesterone before on week 10. My RE doesn't and admitted he wouldn't know what a normal value would be. Hoping the OB might... Anyone know what normal ranges would be?

QOTW: I'd learn how to make my "@ symbol when referencing people blue. I wonder if people get a notification even if the @" isn't blue. No but really I'd want to learn how to be an amazing and moving public speaker and how to market myself better.

Praying4Miracle17 thoughts and prayers with you

tippytoes06 sorry to hear you  had to go to the ER. Glad the scan was good.

  • @Praying4Miracle17 I am so sorry for the loss of baby A. T&P baby B hangs in there. Sending many hugs to you.

We are 12 weeks 2days today. We just did our genetic bloodwork 2days ago. We had an ultrasound as well and baby is right on track! Heartbeat was good and so was the neural tube. It seems like baby also takes after mommy when he/she is sleeping. The u/s tech said baby was sleeping so tried to wake him/her up. You could almost see baby yell leave me alone and roll over to go back to sleep. DH & I were hysterical! The tech did wake the baby and got a really cute pic.

QOTW: my husband's family is Puerto Rican, I would love to learn Spanish so I can teach to the baby. Also it would be easier to talk to my grandmother-in-law. I took 3years in High school and remember little. My MIL sings beautiful songs to my nieces, the same she sang to my husband and I'd like to do the same for his child.
Me: 33 - PCOS & Hypothyroidism DH: 35 - SA is good Married since 2010 (together since 2006) TTC since June 2009 (we knew we would have issues and wanted family right away after we got married). No pregnancies yet. May 2013 - started first round of Chlomid & ovidrel cycle.
  • @Praying4Miracle17 - thinking of you and baby B! Be strong, Baby B!

I can not believe I'm moving into the second tri. It really is unbelievable.

I told work yesterday and they were all like, "Yeah, we figured it out weeks ago." I think recent move up in cup size that tipped them off. ;) Now that work knows I feel like I can wear tight clothes again and begin to show off my small bump, rather than the moo moos I have been sporting.

I found a great high-risk OB that I feel really comfortable with and calmed my nerves about the bed rest and delivery of twins. With this dr I will also be delivering at the hospital where my sister works, which is an added bonus.

QOTW: Like most others, I would want to be fluent in another language, but something weird like Arabic. I think in a secret life I want to be Carrie Mathison.

  • @Praying4Miracle17 I really hope for the best for your baby B.

We have our first u/s mid next week so I'm pretty excited.  Mostly I just want to know if there's gonna be 1 or 2 beans!  We are throwing an adoption party for DS tomorrow and are planning on telling family about our new baby news afterwards.  I wish we had a u/s photo to share too, but I don't want to wait since this will be a good opportunity to have everyone in one place and tell them the news at the same time.  My Mom & MIL get really touchy about who gets told news first, so, problem solved!

QOTW:  I wish I could learn to be musical.  I am pretty much tone deaf and can't sing or play any instruments.  I don't even like to hear myself sing - I can tell my singing is that bad but can't learn to do any better.  Poor DS gets to hear my terrible singing as I try to do nursery songs.  Did I mention that I'm also really bad at remembering words to songs :)

  • @Praying4Miracle17 - My thoughts are with you right now. I'm so sorry for your loss and hoping everything turns out OK with Baby B.

AFM: Sorry for the late check in, I was in a wedding this weekend (which, of course, required last-minute alterations to my dress since my boobs decided they were going to start growing this week). We had our 2nd U/S about a week ago and heard two heartbeats -- one measuring 122 and the other 124. I go back in for my weekly U/S tomorrow, so hoping we will still be hearing two strong heartbeats.

QOTW: I'd like to learn other languages (mostly Spanish) since DH's family speaks it. It would be useful to understand the WHOLE story his mom is telling before she breaks off into Spanish somewhere during the second half :-)
