Hi everyone,

This is my third pregnancy and I have TONS of contractions. Not regular or anything but just lots of braxton hicks. I also feel like her head is already engaged. My section isn't until May 8th. Wondering if being over 35 and having had multiple pregnancies makes it more likely for labour to happen early?

No one really knows the causes of PTL for sure. Only that if you've had one baby preterm, you're more likely to have subsequent pregnancies early too. If you're having more than 5-6 BH per hour, you should call your OB.

3rd pregnancy, in my (very early) thirties, constant contractions all effing day every day. Pretty sure he'll just fall out of me- has been head down since 28 weeks.

I can't speak from personal experience, but my mom had 4 pregnancies that resulted in 5 kids. She had me at 24, and finished with fraternal twins at almost 37. We were all carried to full term, with my brothers going 36+ weeks as twins. I'd say it really has nothing to do with your number of pregnancies, and that your BH really aren't indicative of anything. Some babies/ladies drop and engage sooner than others.

3rd time mom, at 31yo. I've never gone into labour on my own before, and no signs of that happening this time, although I'm only 32 weeks yet, so still lots of time.

Third time mom here 35 weeks and I'm having tons of BH as well also had a few real contractions the other night no other signs of labour though but I did have my other two at 37+3 and 38+1 so maybe it's just my body getting ready I'll be 25 May 3rd
