When did you announce twins?

We are 11 weeks, and have our first MFM appointment tomorrow. My husband is ready to announce to the world that we are pregnant, and with twins! I know it will be when I feel comfortable, but I'm also still cautiously optimistic which I probably will be till I give birth to two healthy babies! When did/will you announce??

We did at 11 weeks.. I'm still not convinced that two babies will come home with us, but I am pregnant with twins, and I wanted people to know! I'm going to err on the side of hope.

Very close family/friends knew right away. We waited to tell the world until about 13 weeks after the nuchal scan. We told everyone twins from the beginning!

I think I am pretty scared to announce "twins" to anyone due to my age..I worry I won't get "congrats" as much as I will get "oh no".....not sure when I will announce. So far, nobody but us know but we are only 7 weeks..

We are planning on telling DH's family at 10 weeks when we will all be together for Easter, then waiting to tell extended family at 12 weeks... Only our parents know that there are twins cooking in there, so for the one other person in his fam that knows it will be a surprise for her too!

I'd like to wait as long as possible, but we work with his fam and it's getting hard for me to find things to wear... I feel like I'm growing crazy fast even though I haven't gained any weight... weird... Anyway, I don't think I can hide it from everyone much after 10 weeks anyway.

Thanks for the input! My husband and our parents are bursting at the seams with excitement. I am excited, but like I said "cautiously optimistic". As you know, it's the IF brain that won't let me be completely elated! Ugh!

10.5 weeks. The blump was getting out of control and people were starting to make comments anyways.

I was so scared to be "out"! But it was a really positive experience and the outpouring of love and well wishes is incredible.

You have worked hard for these babies and there is no reason to believe they'll be anything less than happy and healthy. Go ahead and tell the IF brain to shove it

We waited for our genetic testing to come back ok before we announced. We told our parents about a week or 2 before testing came back, but ended up announcing to the world right around 15-16 weeks

We told close family right away. We went public after our 12 check up. 2 great heartbeats gave us the go!

I told my last boss last week at 11 weeks and figure I will go public at work next week (12 weeks). Otherwise I think we will announce on FB sooner than later, mostly because having twins is already impacting our summer/travel plans to visit people

we announced at 12.5 weeks. i was hesitant and scared mentioning the twins, but i try to remain hopeful and although there is more risk, anything can happen whether its 1 or 2. so thats how i try to rationalize it.

I told close family right away but had to speak up around 8-9 weeks as the bump was not hide-able.    We are now 14 weeks and it's helped to have support both at home and at work as the fatigue has been challenging.

We are telling my parents at Easter (I'll be 10.5 weeks). We will then tell my DH parents the following weekend and then slowly start to go public (work and close friends). We wanted to tell each of our parents in person, to explain our risks. We wanted to wait longer, after week 14 but DH will be in China for 3 weeks in May. I realized if something went wrong while he was gone, I would want people to know for support and help.

We told my parents right after we found out (6 weeks), waited til 8.5 weeks to tell friends but did then because we felt comfortable and wanted to be able to spend time with people (and explain away how crappy I was feeling). We waited to tell everyone else until 13 weeks- but we live 10-14 hours away from our families so it's not like we were seeing them all the time.

My coworkers actually knew I was pregnant very early on- I was on twice a day PIO and the timing worked out better for them to do my morning shots (we're nurses) so they knew I was pregnant after the shots continued. I can't remember precisely when we told them twins but it wasn't long after we found out.

We let our close friends and family know immediately when we found out at 5 weeks 3 days (they've been privy to our infertility struggles so it would be stupid to start keeping secrets now). I ended up spilling the beans at work at almost 7 weeks because I was already getting sick and would rather have people knowing why I'm sick than thinking I'm just being a slacker. 

After that, aside from on Facebook (still holding off for an official announcement) I'm pretty much telling everyone who asks and some who don't. I'm trying to dump the infertility brain and just want to celebrate every moment of this pregnancy rather than live in fear something bad will happen. Of course, I've never experienced a loss so I don't know how I would feel if that happened. I'd like to think I would want the support of those around me and would be glad they know, though.

Only my parents know right now. I will tell my sister at Easter. I don't want to tell anyone else until first tri is over. Just trying to avoid people right now. DH wants to tell his family but I requested he doesn't bc it's a big family and if you tell one, it will be all over town the next day. We told everyone was stopped treatment in 2/13 so no one will be expecting this..
