This is a special weekly Thursday check-in for all of us who have crossed into our 40's. We all hang out on TTC after 35, but we all know that once you hit your fabulous 40's and are TTC it is just different.
There is a regular Weekly Check In on Wednesdays for all on this board, so feel free to post on both check-ins if you like. If you are completely new to the TTC after 35 board and haven't done a formal intro please do that before posting here!
1. Your Name and/or Screen Name (no full names) and the State you live in and what number are you TTC (i.e first, second, third child).
2. Where are you in your cycle and what kind of cycle is it (IVF, IUI, Natural... etc)?
3. What medications, supplements, and/or special diet are part of your cycle that are helping you with TTC?
4. Who do you want to give a shout out to this week from our board (or somewhere else if applicable)? Just put their screen name and a little message.
5. Weekly Vent - Go ahead, vent on one thing that is really irking you this week, promise you will feel better after.

Re: Weekly Check-In For The **Over 40** Crowd
2. Day 7 of stimming for IVF#2. All is going well so far. Made it past the halfway point of the injections and that is a good thing.
3. I have Hashimoto's so I take Synthroid daily. As well I take COQ10 and a Prenatal Multi Vitamin. I try to eat pretty healthily and have switched over to many organic foods. My latest endeavor is with high antioxidant veggies like beets, purple potatoes and other dark fruits and veggies.
4. @MelissaMiso loving all the discussions you've started on hear lately. Lots of fun and different topics. Keep it up
5. So my future step daughter in law was complaining on Facebook about having to work in the infant room at the day care where she works and had a baby spit up on her. She then went on to post on my personal Facebook wall how when the time comes she wants to adopt a child that is at least 5 years old so she can "keep her body by not being pregnant, not have to worry about the large epidural needle going in her during child birth, and not have to loose sleep because of an infants sleeping schedule." Holy moly, I was floored to read it. I swiftly deleted the post. I was going to send her a private message about why I did that but have not done so yet. She knows nothing about our journey with infertility and I felt it may open a can of worms I don't want opened. This is what I would have sent, though....
"As someone who is adopted your post hit an emotional cord with me. People who adopt to become parents are generally not doing it because they want to keep their body, get away from their own fears of needles or save themselves from sleepless nights that come with an infant. Most often they are pursuing adoption because they want to become parents and have spent years with heartbreaking infertility issues that are full of sadness and disappointment. I have friends who have been down this road and I do not want them reading comments like this on my wall when I've been with them through some of the worst times of their lives. I'm not saying this to you in a mean-spirited way, but rather an educational way as I am sure you don't have much experience with these types of issues at this point in your young life."
Would you send it or just leave it be?
**Name That Action (NTA) ** Um, I think I'll state the kind of obvious, have a child of my own.

Sorry about your future DIL's FB post. Ouch. If this is an issue that's likely to come up again with her (which it sounds like it is), it's probably worth having a gentle word so you don't have to keep hearing (or reading) that stuff from her. I think your response is good. I might take out the 2nd and last sentences so it's very clear that the emphasis is on avoiding hurting other people's feelings and not on criticizing her or her comment per se.
1. Davie813, Chicago. TTC #2
2. Natural cycle. 2 DPO, I think. I'll be having my progesterone checked at 7 DPO to confirm ovulation
3. COQ10 (Ubiquinol), folic acid, DHA, prenatal, calcium/magnesium/Vitamin D. I started taking DHEA but got nervous about side effects and stopped for now. I'm considering vitex, maca, royal jelly, wheatgrass juice....it's getting ridiculous. I'd appreciate "reviews" of any of this stuff, if people have them.
4. I think it's cool that we have so many new people on here lately. Hi, all!
5. I actually think this is pretty much done for a while, but I am soooooooo tired of having the Chicago Fire set in front of my house. Wednesday morning, several neighbors and I had to move our cars at 4 am because the crew had put up incorrect notices about parking. People who didn't happen to hear the tow trucks outside just got towed!
NTA. Hmmm. It's not very interesting, but I'd like to get truly healthy. My health and weight have fluctuated a lot over the years, but it's always been a huge struggle.
