Thread Redirect Question.

I unfortunately don't have the opportunity to spend a lot of time on here & due to computer virus issues from the boards I am only on mobile which I find more difficult to keep track of people & build relationships. That being said....

How much of you ladies honestly go back through past threads to see if there have been recent questions/comments? I usually go back a few pages to see what I have missed, to avoid duplicate discussion topics & avoid the dreaded redirect comment. I usualky find that what I wanted to ask/talk about has already been discussed. However I am hesitant to post on older topics, wondering if it is worth it.

If you're going back a few pages and it hasn't been brought up like, yesterday, then post them.  Not everyone has a chance to get into every discussion the first time around and people's opinions might change or they may have a different question this time. 

Frankly the board has been boring.  I don't think we need a million "Is this normal?" threads but I also don't always have time to go through the SS, or newbie, or every daily symptom thread every day.  And, I think you don't get as many responses in those threads sometimes.  You get a few good ones, but if you want to open the discussion up to more people, then start a thread...

Just my two cents.

I'm here everyday and have a creepy good memory so I tend to remember posts and can find them easily. I'd say 90% of the time I post a link to a past post, it is just to give the OP more opinions as some posters may have left or others may not want to type a lengthy response again. If it doesn't fit into one of our daily threads (i.e. My random doc friend says I should be induced), is a super scary condition (i.e. I'm headed to the ER for bleeding) or is an interesting discussion topic, I don't see what the issue would be.

I will utilize the search function if it's something that I either remember having been asked or I think could have been asked, but I frankly do not go beyond the first page unless I'm looking for a specific thread (usually the CD one).  If you have a question, post it - usually when people redirect, it's usually just to be helpful.

I guess I would say that it is difficult to build relationships when others when you feel like you are just reading past conversations & not actually active in it.

I honestly think I may just be kinda emotional today.....feeling like the kid picked last for kickball. (

Just post them. You'll never please everyone on here I like when I see new threads rather than the same threads that have pages and pages. It gets old wading through those.

And don't get upset when someone mentions a previous thread or links you to it.  It's for your benefit to see all the comments that were previously posted, in case those people don't come back and post the same info on your new thread.  Just more info! :)

OP I almost want to go out on a limb and say if the thread has been idle with no new responses for more than a month then it's probably safe to start a new one. That being said, there are a couple exceptions that could be made (like the CD thread- because it rocks), in that case, I'm sure someone will post a link to it.

As far as my earlier word choice I apologize if i did offend anyone...it was not meant to hurt & I admit I should have chosen a different word to use....it gets thrown around too casually.

@TheMrs820‌ - agree with PPs. If it's not in the first two pages and doesn't fit in the daily threads, start a new one! Just wanted to add: no need to add a disclaimer and title it AW or SS. And if someone does link you to another discussion it may have additional useful information, but it doesn't necessarily mean you are being "redirected."

Don't over think it. If you double post you might get a little snark and get giffed. No biggie. It's all in good fun, and who doesn't love a gif party?!?

There are a couple of threads with gif instructions. It's SUPER easy. I'll look it up in a bit and post a link for you.
