Tide Question

If I can smell detergent after I'm done washing/rinsing does that mean I'm using too much?

I usually use Tide Free but I couldn't find it in store and got the original. My diapers almost always smell like tide now. I use to the first 1 line for a full load. (top loader) There are no bubbles in the final rinse and they always come clean and I don't have any issues but I just want to make sure I'm not setting myself up for issues.

Would you decrease the amount a little?

I think my diapers always smell faintly of Tide but it's not strong.  I haven't had any problems yet (3.5 months in) with buildup.  If it starts to become a problem then do several hot water strips.

Tide leaves a fragrance. It's supposed to. So I guess it depends on if what you're smelling is fragrance or actual detergent. I would think if it was detergent they would feel soapy too. The fragrance isn't designed to rinse out so I don't think more rinses will help.

Okay thanks all. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't setting myself up for buildup issues. It's been a long time since I've used anything with a scent. We don't have any problems so I'll just stick with what I'm doing

I posted this exact same thing when I started using Tide.  I have never used scented things in my life, so I was surprised to smell it.  But that's just how Tide rolls.

This. It just seems so strong after never using anything scented.

OH NO!  That is NOT what I meant.  I mean, clever had I so intended it.  But I didn't.  Aggie all the way here.
