Hello all, I am almost 33 weeks and measuring 28 at my appt yesterday. They are doing an ultrasound in 2 weeks to check things out. Anyone experience this? How did it turn out?
I just had the opposite happen. Measured a week and a half ahead, but on the ultrasound she was fine, not too large and not too much amniotic fluid. Remember that the measurement of your fundus (uterus using a tape measure) can be off due to position or just plain bad measurements. Better safe than sorry, and your doc is obviously covering all the bases by getting you in for an ultrasound. FX for you that in two weeks he/she is measuring just fine.

I'm 36 and a half weeks and have been consistently 2 weeks behind since 28 weeks. At my checkup today I'm now only one week behind. Baby has caught up a little! Remember that babies have growth spurts at different rates as pregnancy progresses. I'm sure they'll be able to give you a better insight at your scan.

I measured 2-3 weeks small (it varied) for my entire pregnancy with my first daughter. She was born 10 days late and perfectly fine ... just on the small side (6 lb 3 oz).
I measured 2cm too small each time with my first (2 extra growth U/S later on), varying 2-5cm behind with this one (final U/S at 28 weeks).
U/S never showed a problem. Baby 1 was 6lb7 on the smaller end of normal. This one is *likely* to be in the smaller end of normal too. I'm a small person myself so no-one is overly concerned.
Also: first pregnancies tend to measure small. If you have a long torso, you might measure small. And my doctors told me that measurements (both U/S and external) are not always entirely accurate. If your doctor is not seriously concerned, you shouldn't be either.
I wouldn't worry much. I always measure a week or two behind and my last baby was still 10 pounds - I just have a super long torso. It's not the most accurate measurement and much depends on your build and how baby is positioned.
This is my 4th pregnancy. I've measured behind in all of them. In fact, I don't think I've ever measured above 33 in any of them. I've given birth to full term healthy babies (weights have ranged from @5-7bs). I'm also short and petite. It really could be just the positioning of the baby. Honestly I wouldn't be worried about it at all.
Well ... on Friday they told me I was measuring 5 weeks behind and that the ultrasound showed that baby was also measuring 5 weeks behind. Dr. said she was probably only 5 lbs 3 oz and that I should be induced. So they induced me. Baby was born perfectly healthy and a whopping 7 lbs 2 oz. Surprise!! Don't worry, mama!
