Ok so my partner and I are TTC.
It's been a few days but already I can just feel my body changing.

My breasts are so sore, I'm beyond exhausted, I crave/switch food wants like mad.
Am I just imagining this, or is it possible I'm already feeling the changes in my body preparing.

Also I have heard that your body gets like a fever almost because your body thinks the baby is a virus or whatever and its trying to fight? Is that true?

AHHH IM SO EXCITED!!!
Edit. So I mean preparing my body for the baby. Obviously the fever isn't true after posting I went and read some more I'm not pmsing, I'm off birth control for three years now. I'm very in tune with my body, so I'm just trying to not get my hopes up to be dissapointed This would be my first pregnancy so sorry I'm scared and excited and a little under educated but if you're going to be rude don't post here and take down my excitement.

    Changing and preparing....for what?

If you went off of birth control to begin TTC, your body could be adjusting to the hormonal changes.

Pms symptoms and early pregnancy symptoms are very similar due to the same levels of hormones in your body. Plus your mind likes to mess with you. I was convinced I was pregnant when I wasn't even really trying.

Read up on the basics of how your fertility works and look into charting if you want to get technical. Good luck!

Clearly you're all just rude. I didn't mean preparing to get pregnant I meant preparing for the change that is pregnancy. I'm leaving this forum what rude people minus the first actually helpful person on here. It would be my first child first pregnancy seriously you shouldn't be so rude.
  • No, but I'm very in tune and sensitive. I'm trying to say clearly I'm feeling different. My body has symptoms that I can't explain. Ugh why did I post
  • Lol yes I wrote super late and tired. The responses were just so friggen not ok

Yeah your body doesn't "prepare" to get pregnant. Whatever symptoms you are experiencing are either due to the fact that you are off your BC and strictly hormonal (welcome to the world of being a woman) or psycho-sematic (sp??) Regardless - they aren't real. We all get that you're excited because you're TTC - but unless you approach this from a realistic perspective - you're only going to be met with snark - fair warning.
Agreed.  I understand you are SUPER excited to be starting this journey--but realize that not everyone here is seeing rainbows and butterflies, like you are right now.  It can get rough on these boards at times ;) It sounds to me like you are over-analyzing your body right now. RELAX.  Enjoy the ride!  Good luck!

Good luck! Don't be put off by the snark. Some of these boards are a little mean. Ladies I don't think she deserves an attack. Just wanted to wave a peace flag as it's hard to read the comments.
    TTC#1 since Aug 2013, I'm 37, DH 41.
Maya Arvigo Abdominal massage (daily self care), plus TTC meditations.
I'm very sensitive to diet (gluten, avoid processed foods) and environment. Have a history of inflammation and tendinitis before going off gluten in 2009.
July 2014 - RE Visit #1: Eggs look good, Endometrioma on R ovary, HSG showed blocked R tube close to ovary. DH SA normal
DX: Endometriosis probably the IF cause and gunking up tubes.  Since egg reserve is high, RE says I can wait a couple months and then get laproscopic surgery to remove endo & clear tube.  If that doesn't help then move to IVF.
Dec 2014 - Saw new RE - does not recommend surgery on tube as it isn't likely to help.  Doubts I have endometriosis.  My endometrioma shrunk to neglible size (yay!)
    Seriously considering IVF in March/April

To the bolded: No. You can't. You're just over-analyzing like everybody else who starts TTC.

And the temp spike is a sign of ovulation. Please read up on fertility and how your body works. Being off birth control for 3 years doesn't mean you know everything about your cycle, especially if you don't temp, track cm, etc. Your normal PMS symptoms can change at any time, so don't think that sore boobs are a pregnancy sign until you get a +HPT. Your cycle can also change at any time, so temping is the ONLY way to know if/when you ovulated.

  • You should post this over on TTGP - that would have you running back here to the kind ladies of BOTB.

Noooooooooo! We can't be the nice ones. :( we were the mean ones.

  • Food for thought if everyone here's trying then compassion and sharing in the excitement should be part of it. But no worries I'm done here. Thank you all for ruining my experience on this board.
