Another ? Re: PT and Not Pooping

I used to lurk on this board but have mostly been hanging out on BNB lately.  I'm really hoping that y'all have some suggestions for me, though!  My son (almost three) is doing FANTASTICALLY when it comes to peeing.  If it were just pee, I'd say that he is potty trained.  But he refuses to poo in the potty.  He will hold it until naptime and bedtime when he knows that I will put on a diaper.  I would rather not keep him in underwear for sleeping (he doesn't hold it while asleep yet).  Is there any way that I can encourage him to use the toilet rather than the diaper?  Or is this the sort of thing that will just happen when he's ready?  

Thank you in advance for any advice.  I apologize if this has been asked before.  I did a quick look down the page and saw the other question about the poster's LO not pooping at all, but her situation seemed different, so I figured I'd go ahead and ask as well.  I have to post and dash, but I'll check back in this evening.

My stepson is 3 and does the same thing. I'm following in hopes of getting some answers.
