4 cm dilated. How long would would you guess until labor?

Or what were your experiences?  I'm 36 weeks Thursday, both girls are head down and dr said 4 cm but still high up.  My friends (who have never had twins) keep telling me how long they lasted after they were dilated... I know you can go awhile, but is it different with twins?  My dr said he thinks I won't make it to my appointment Tuesday.

I've been 1cm for three weeks (since 35w) if that helps. I have also been 70% effaced for two. Being induced tomorrow....That's the only experience I have, sorry.

I think it's different for everyone. At 32 weeks I went from 1cm to "oh crap they're coming" in 20min. This progression hurt super bad and I was put under for emergency csection.

I was 1.5cm dilated and 70% effaced at 32w. My water broke spontaneously at 34w and I progressed to 6cm in about 45min. Baby A was breech and his cord prolapsed, so it was emergency c for me but I have no doubt labor would have been super quick had they presented differently.

3cm and 50% starting at 25wks, didn't go into labor at all after a few PTL scares and had a c/s at 37wks. It's very different for everyone.

I was 3-4cm for 5 weeks before my baby A's sac ruptured at 34 weeks. I was also on bed rest for PTL since 23 weeks though.
