Hi all,
I have PCOS and have been on 1000 mg of Metformin throughout TTC and my first trimester. I have now reached 12 1/2 weeks (yay) and my doctor says I can stop taking the Metformin now. I am really nervous about this because I feel like it has been my miracle drug that helped me get pregnant and maybe even prevented another MC. I have been doing some reading and I saw there is a study that shows taking it throughout your whole pregnancy reduces risk of pre-term labor. I called my doctor to ask her again and she said that was not valid and they did not recommend any of their patients take it after 12 weeks. I really don't want to stop taking it though, but I guess I should do what she says. I was hoping to get some insight from other PCOS ladies- what have your doctor's told you to do about Metformin? Thanks for the help!!
