~~~ Pact Grads Check In ~~~
Oh the things I do for @candlequeen!
Morning pregnant ladies.  I hope you are all in better pregnant moods than I am.  I don't know if I'm just over being pregnant, or over passing a cold back and forth with LO since Christmas, or just flat out exhausted.  But this mama has been in a bad mood for a while now.
Anything new?  Questions?  Concerns?  New fluff?
QOTW: Okay, so since we're KU, we can't drink, many of us can't work out like we want to, some of us can't indulge in sweets.  What do you do to relieve stress?
  • Adorable gummy bear @mrshudson618!
    For some reason I can't cry when I'm pregnant.  I've cried maybe 3 times my entire pregnancy, and they have been for extremely significant circumstances.  I'm like a pregnant zombie.  I want to cry.  I think I could feel better if I cried.  But no tears will come.
    That would suck. I need a really good cry about once a month in order to function properly, even when not pregnant.
  • Omg that is the sweetest pic ever @mrshudson618‌ ! I posted in another thread about my early u/s yesterday showing an empty sac at 5w2d. Feeling in limbo right now.
    QOTW: tmi but having sex relieves stress for me and so does walking or some type of physical activity :)
  • Hugs @candlequeen‌ !
    I'm feeling pretty good. I took my glucose test Monday, so I'll get those results tomorrow.
    QOTW: I sew, chat with my sister or BFF or, if I'm feeling totally scattered and unable to focus, I'll shop. It's a totally unhealthy outlet, but at least it's (usually) just window shopping ;)
  • Nothing new, really, just getting to the point where I'm so over it. I'm just so much more exhausted and sore and uncomfortable than last time. 36-week appointment on Thursday!
    I sleep. I seriously have no energy for anything else fun while I'm pregnant. Or I spend way too much money shopping online.
  • I assume this is a post for the pregnant women on here so I'm just going to pop in and comment  ;;)
    I started getting some things for my NB stash yesterday. I ordered Flats and Workhorse diapers from Green Mountain. Even though baby won't be here for a while I can't wait to get my hands on them!
    I have had a cold for about two weeks now that I just can't get over. It's really wearing on me and my mood. Poor H.
    For stress I do a couple of different things depending on what I'm stressing about. I either cry, take a bath, or clean house in anger.
  • Thinking of you, Candlequeen! Hugs!
    16 weeks 2 days.
    I'm feeling mostly normal! Yay! Baby is getting bigger. I'm like twice the size as my first pregnancy at this time. Maternity pants fall down, but my regular jeans are uncomfortable, even unbuttoned and unzipped.
    I have BH already, but I did last time, too. It's normal.
    I get on the internet to relax. I try to zone out and forget about life for a bit.
  • Had first u/s last week, baby measured 9 weeks, so that is good. But it's heartbeat was in the 70's :( so I am really stressing and freakig out at this point. Have another u/s on Friday so hopefully we get good news.
    Normally I bake when I am stressed, but my kitchen is a disaster and I refuse to cook in a mess. So I window shop instead.
    Doesn't look dead to me now.
  • @potterowl Oh my gosh, I know what you mean!! I was so irritable all last week. Poor DH couldn't do anything right, and no matter what was going on, I was pissy :( I'm glad to hear your A/S went well, though (DH is a nurse and he hates ultrasounds too. Our very first one with G showed a perfect little gummy bear, and now he thinks everything else is stupid (unless they switch over to 3D mode for us)).
    Just got back from my check-up. Glucose levels look great AND my blood pressure is staying low (woohoo!). Now I just have a sore bum from my Rhogam shot :/
    start drinking in the mornings.
    no?  is that not the answer?  well crap.
    Seriously, though, it's not as crazy as you think.  One to two actually wasn't that bad for us, just took a few days to figure out our new normal. Ask for help if you need it and realize it's ok for everything not to get done.  You'll be great, mama :)
    So my cousin's pediatrician told her that when it comes down to the newborn and the toddler needing something at the same time, you should address the toddler's needs first, then the newborn.  He said that the toddler is capable of understanding time elapsing, and the fact that he needs something and isn't getting what he needs.  Whereas newborns have no sense of time.
    I can't imagine the thought of letting my newborn just cry, but if grabbing E a sippy cup of milk really quickly is what she needs while #2 cries for a minute before I nurse her, that makes more sense than making E wait half an hour for her sippy cup and being very hurt and upset, not to mention jealous of the baby.
    I sort of plan to just wear the newborn all the time.  Only sort of joking.
    I still wear G sometimes to allow me to do things like attending D's karate class and grocery shopping without a toddler running around breaking things.
    Also get the toddler to help you with the baby. Just make it his/her job to pick a clean diaper, get baby's hippy for nursing, etc. That way he/she feels important, needed and included in baby's life instead of replaced by baby.
    Oh and schedule one on one toddler and mommy and one on one toddler and daddy time every couple weeks.
    @TJ1979‌ your cousin's pedi is wise. Tending to Colton' s needs first is how it goes for the most part. Just be careful bc your first born May come to think She is more important than the baby. I think use your best judgement. Harper is so independent and Colton is not :\ I was also told to be careful with statements such as "the baby needs to eat right now I'll get that for you later" that makes it look like it's the baby's fault that you can't do ______. instead I would say "mommy is feeding your sister right now but when I'm finished I'll help you. Does that make sense or sound stupid?
    Also I fully intend to drink A LOT when this baby is born ;)
  • Whew! DH is finally on his way home, so my mom headed back to her house today. I love having her at my house b/c she is so helpful and doesn't need to be entertained! I haven't been on my laptop for about a week, but it's b/c we were so busy in a good way. We got DS2's quilt top 1/2 way done, and DS1's Easter outfit is coming along. Anyway, in bumpiness news I had my glucose test yesterday. It sucked big hairy, salty balls in a major way, but thankfully I passed it. The pain from my SPD and vericose veins is easing up a little bit, and my OB is pleased with my slow weight gain. (I was kind of shocked at this b/c I feel like I eat everything that's not nailed down.)
    For stress relief, I try to make myself sit down and do something mindless or fun when DS takes his naps. He is generally pretty happy to play with odds and ends and "help" me while I clean or do laundry, so I try to do chores while he's awake and then savor the quiet times. When it's nice out, I take him for long walks, but sometimes he gets fussy in the stroller so that's not always a stress reliever. :|
    Not sure if you really don't know, or are just bringing back up the old V-Day thing.  But pregnancy V-Day is viability date, 24 weeks, the point at which your baby has a better chance of surviving outside the womb should something happen.
    Oh! Doh! I know they had a better chance of survival after 24 weeks but was having one of those big ol' brain farts that precluded the word "viability" from my vocabulary so I didn't make the connection.
  • I'm just effin done being pregnant.  Everyone keeps saying "you're in the home stretch"  but you know 5 weeks does not feel like the home stretch, it feels like forever.  Ugh.
    I've gotten a few new aios, the new watermelon BB cover, and a couple more GNHWs.  Can't wait until little lady is here to wear them :)
    To relieve stress?  I shower every night, warm/hot.  But that is it.  Ugh.  I'm craving a fruity mixed drink.  I so want H to sneak me one in the hospital but you know...won't happen :(
  • I just realized that my next OB appointment is 3 days before I was admitted last time (@ 37w3d) and induced for sudden BP issues.
    BP is good so far...thank god,  but it still freaks me out.  I don't know why she's still got me on two week appts instead of 1 week now, since she knows my history (and made most of the decisions last time about my care once I was in hospital)
    I'm off work officially now.  No more 3 hours driving on top of teaching all day and working with students with behavior issues (running, tantrums).  Going off work is definitely a good way to deal with stress  :P
    I got a 'mom' haircut today.  I thought it would be easier to take care of.  I just woke up for my 3:30 am insomnia.  My hair is sticking off in every possible direction and I can't put it in a pony tail. (not that I am worried at 3:30 am... but so much for an easy hairstyle)
    Confession:  I still send DD to daycare, even though I'm off.  I think she's happier there playing with her friend.
  • @tjkdlhb Congrats on being off work!  I'm so jealous.  And happy 35/35 due date buddy!  I think it's actually smart to keep sending your daughter to DC.  Her life is about to be completely turned upside down.  The more normal you can keep it, the better, in my opinion.  I fully intend to keep using the nanny once my LO is born because I think E deserves that 1:1 time, and it will be better for her to keep a strict schedule that she's used to.
